Will a DS1100 engine from a Multistrada fit in a Monster 620 frame? Would you need a custom exhaust to make it work? How about the rearsets? Would you need anything special?
I recently saw a low mileage DS1100 go for $890 plus shipping on eBay, which got me thinking about the possibilities. [evil]

Engine will bolt in, but the MS motors (even the 620's) have a narrower swingarm mounting pivot similar to the SBK's. You'd need to adapt the swingarm pivot, or adapt the entire rear suspension to use a narrower mount in a Monster frame. Exhaust would have to be adapted (most likely) as well... Guess I was sleepin'....or I would've bought that engine!!!!

Would it be easier to just use a MS swingarm? But then I would need a new SSS wheel. I guess if it was easy we would see this conversion more often.
I think the seller was Proclivity, who posts in the Parts section quite frequently. You may see the auction again. It seems that half the auctions run multiple times because of non-payment.

no,no.......it will fit much better in
my a s2r1k frame.
after you buy it, let me know if you want to sell it
The MS arm could be used, but then you have to support the ends of the swing-arm pivot, as well as deal with a different suspension mounting point (IIRC it's different....)

Proclivity still had the MS swingarm available. I was watching that auction, and that was the deal of the century. My pockets just couldn't handle it right now.
