So I just scored a Termignon full system for mmy 02 MS4 but was unable pick up an DP ECU. I just scheduled the 24k service and wanted to know what you guys thought about the effects the new system will have without upgradinfg the ECU. Will I lose low end torque as a result? Will the 5.9 ECU be able to adjust? What effects will a power commander have?
Here's a little info on an S4 with some DP stuff.

Not the full system, but relevant.
You may lose a little low-end with the full system, as the midpipe is larger diameter.
The 5.9 ECU cannot self-adjust.
The shop should be able to bump the trim up to get it to run a bit better.
A power commander and a good dyno tune would help a bunch.
Not a *lot* more power, but it will be much more friendly.

Thanks for reply. Yeah I read BB's information a few times. My concern is the ECU. Man this sux. I guess I'll wait to see what the shop can do and ride the bike around a bit.

I just read into the lanbda traces and saw that with the open air box and exhaust and the lambda results were all over the place! What does that translate into?
The engine is pulling in either more or less air than it did before, depending on rpm and resonance of the exhaust/intake.
The ECU has no way of measuring airflow, it just looks into a table of rpm and throttle position that's loaded by the factory, then squirts fuel depending on what value it gets from the table.

I fully understand. Shyte, then the motor may run all over the place without proper "instruction." I better get a Powercommander and dyno this puppy.
