So last year's new year ride was totally fun, and a great way to kick off the new year.
Would anyone be interested in doing it again for 2009?
Me!

Me!
I sent my gear out for repair. I'm being told it'll be 5 weeks! >:(
If it's shorter I'd like to go.
Like with most rides, I'd join in if'n it came my way. Coastal, Western directions.
Absent snow and ice on the ground roads, hell yes! [thumbsup]
fixed.

You weren't there. It was me, mo, krolik, JD, canoncrazy, and I think that's it unless I'm missing someone.

Remember: without pics it never happened. :)
Here's a ride we did shortly after Valentines day (2/16). Salty - this is the ride where you spotted Neenjah on her Ninja in a sea of Ducati's on Germantown Road.
I think I missed the New Years Day ride. Anybody have pics of the New Years ride?
But, I do remember the ride in February. Gorgeous day. Lambo's and Ferarri's at Motocorsa.

I'd potentially be up for a New Years' Ride, pending fair weather.

what is service? my bikes all Fed up.
it missed once last time i rode the beast. i am not worrying about it right now. i have been starting her no problem, just going to keep her garaged til i can afford the tune up. i skipped the 12k because i was cheap and now feel guilty and paranoid at anything i hear wrong. my new pretty harley can stand the trip, she too is loud in a different, american, way. i have the race tuner and heavy breather on her, she has as much torque and horse that she'll ever have. Ahhh. Yes my bike is now at 12K, got it last year with 6K on it and thought it would take me a few years to get 12K built up. oh well. I had a harley, and sold it for the monster. It actually was a really reliable bike, fun to ride, had straight shot pipes on it with no baffles so it was very loud. I put drag bars on it with 3.5" risers, had a mustang seat with a nice backrest for my wife. it was a 883 sportster with the 1200 conversion kit. I dont care what anyone says, that 1200 bike was faster than any harley out there. Faster than the stock 1200's, and faster than any of the bigger bikes. Here is a picture of it.

i dont know how to add attachments to this page. Dumb me.
Shes a biggins, almost 1600, but pretty near to sleeping when compared to the s4r or any duc for that matter.
anyhow, my wife limited me to the purchase and few must have upgrades (pipe, intake and passenger mods) for this year.
does anyone know a good friend who services ducs in their garage? has anyone looked into the training for duc maintenance? the school for harley and honda sounds interesting, useful and costly. i am just trying to escape the cost of labor at motocorsa.

All them damn schools cost way too much... not to mention the tools.

I like your H-D, looks like a cool machine and the black-out is nice.
You ought to check out Cheshire Motorsports locally as alt to the mighty Motorcor$a.
i heard cheshire will do the 12K in increments....meaning hell do $200 here, then come back when you got more money then hell do $200 more ect. Cheaper by the hour then motocorsa and he does a great job.
mmm, who? i am not familiar with chesire. i will be able to do it all at once, i don't have a problem saving. i like riding my cruiser for now, shes fun. i just want to save a little by going through a trusted mechanic who works for himself. thanks for more info on cheshire. [thumbsup]
http://www.cheshiremotorsports.com/ (http://www.cheshiremotorsports.com/)
thanks tailgunner, for the note on the HD and info to cheshire. after getting the duc i NEVER thought i would own a harley but then i got married. she told me her true feelings about the "comfort zone" and how it falls outside of the 6x8" seat provided by ducati. funny enough, i was going to buy the Road King, the mega comfort cruiser with three headlights, but she wanted me to pick something i wouldnt be embarrassed driving. 8) street bob or fat bob, looking back, rather have gotten the fat bob. 3 major differences, forward controls are stock(mids on mine), fat boy tank (key doesnt have to stay in fork), and the aggressive stock styling with dual side by side headlights and drag bars. they didnt have a fat bob in. [bang]

True dat - he'll piece meal the 12K service. That reminds me I gotta call Deric and Scott about that whole mess. Gotta do my 24K now.
2 pages worth of replies and no date/time set yet for the ride...... :'( Anyone have any ideas for the route? Time to meet up?
i want to ride granted i am not too hung over and its too early. As far as route goes i think that should be planned later when we know about weather conditions such as ice or snow. I need just a few more miles to put me at my next service level and winter time seems like a good time to do service.

Hmm.... New Years ride... sounds like the date might be 1/1 ;D Unless you were hoping chuck would be your date for the event... don't you know he smells funny.... speaking of which... Julie says I am too mean to you Chuck... [laugh]
Nah, Chuck is just an easy target. [bacon]
HEY! Who deleted my post?! >:(

I was told I'm too mean to BB. Julie says you're too mean to me. Why can't we all just get along? :P
Besides, you tell Julie I won't hold any of your behaviors against her.

Chuck, if I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me? (not that I ever would, but nothing wrong with it if someone did . . .)
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! [laugh] [laugh] (yes, I am a spawn of the 70's. what am I sayin' - the 60's!).
I have forgotten what this thread was about........
Oh yeah....chucks perversions...........no that was another thread.............ahhh boobies......ahhhhh ???...... [puke]
Interested if weather permits.

So what is some suggestions on where we can go?
Cougar run. ;D Just kidding.
I have some rockin' good routes out my way: Carver, Colton, Mulino, back to P-town. Twisties galore & very low Barney Fife factor.
It's an option.
May want to think some options in the lower elevations too. ;D
cougar run? [evil] Hell yeh I am in ;D
there will be tons of snow still around, and the hills will be slippery. Better keep it lower elevations or i will be forced to start hitting kill switches.

It never occured to me to hit somebody's kill switch, untill people on here started complaining about it.... now I do it, every chance I get. ;D
We could go garage to garage (eachothers) and hangout, drink coffee, make adjustments, etc. Just a thought :)
Or we could all ride to mo's garage and leave burn out strips in his garage on C's 2fitty. [thumbsup]

if this winds up being the plan, it would be cool to find a garage in the west somewhere, then maybe go to Billys in SE ect. I got a good route for getting to Billys from the westside up along marine drive all the way to 205 then over to SE 82nd ave exit to billys. Then off somewhere else. Maybe wind up in the end somewhere for lunch. Of course this is thinking from my selfish point of view since i live in the west side. I am open to any starting point. I was just trying to think of a longer ride in between garages.
garage to garage sounds cool...
I got a nice garage west side. One neighbor has a Harley and the other has a BMW cruiser. So we will need to defend the honor of the Duc... and make sure we are plenty loud. [evil]
My garage is 2 hours west of the west side, and it's heated. The garage tour sounds fun. [beer]
The only issue I have with that (and feel free to knock this down!) is that there are going to be a lot of hung over people on potentially cold and wet roads new year's day. I personally would feel more comfortable going out on a ride away from traffic, but if you guys think we'd be cool, then it sounds fun!
wow this should be fun! [thumbsup]
Hoping it wont rain. Im dying to ride.
I'm out. Our Valley Christmas has been rescheduled for New Years Day.
Hey mike i checked out your website, nice place you got there! Hopefully my wife and I can make it down there this spring for a few night stay.

Thanks. Waiting for good weather to ride down? The storms are pretty awesome here in the winter. 25 ft waves here yesterday.
have to work now from 11-8. :( what time is the ride?
I think the ride has been abandoned due to the weather/roads with gravel. Possibly not though, i am a sally so i wont be going for those reasons.
The sun peeked out today at noon, so I suited up and ventured out for a quick ride.
Well . . .
Tree limbs, sand, dirt, patches of snow, standing water, spray from cars, and the icing on the cake: discarded tire chains and cables.
Got me and the bike completely dirty. And it was cold.
Despite all that, it was great fun! ;D
I am still interested in a ride... I here sunday is going to be real nice
