Title: Johnson Leather anyone
Post by: Rob Hilding on December 16, 2008, 05:24:50 PM
My office was broken into and the bastids took my helmet, jacket and gloves.  >:( (amongst lots of other stuff >:( >:()

I had a Marsee ballistic nylon, with armor and it was a great all around jacket (except for the logos and shid but that is another story) and had super night visibility

In attempting to replace it, I find that they (Marsee) don't make that jacket anymore and found this similar cut one in leather:

http://www.johnsonleather.com/n-200-afr.htm (http://www.johnsonleather.com/n-200-afr.htm)

I have seen their stuff at vendor booths at race tracks and it looks like great quality. Does anyone have experience with this company?

The price is close to what I paid for the Marsee (for insurance purposes)

TIA

They do the repair for my Vanson race and street stuff.  No complaints at all.

Juan has one of their jackets.  He loves it.  High quality, good armor.  Custom fit.  HEAVY.   From what I've seen of most of their designs, the style of their jackets looks more like fashion leather style than boy racer moto styling.  But their stuff works like moto leather.  They also make custom 1 and 2 piece suits.

Sorry about the break-in.  Fookin' thieves.   >:(

I have no FHE with their leather but get all of my armor from them (they are the US distributor for T-Pro).  They have been uber responsive and even have assisted me in shaping and adding velcro to it so it fit ideally in my Dainese leather.  In short, their customer service is tops and they are highly recommended.

Sorry to hear about the theft.

went to the store in sanfran, they are good for the tforce armor.

the jackets there look very traditional so if you like that then gfine, but remember what they are known for is custom work.

basicall if you go to them with a design they cna do it, it may cost a bit, but basically if you want something that looks like something from a movie or what have you, then they can do it.

If I was a smart ass (perish the thought), I might say that that job keeps 'em busy ;D ;D

But since I am not (a smart ass) I WILL say THANKS for the input  :) [thumbsup]

I  might have to come up that way and try  on in the SF store.

You might want to check out a
First Gear Scout 4 leather jacket.
I just got mine and it looks very
similar. Multiple pockets, great
venting, and s very nice liner.
Sooner or later I will get around
to posting some pix.
