Today, I just about completed all my Christmas shopping. So to reward myself, I decided to go to the D-Store in SF to check out their new tattoo line. :o
I wasn't initially smittened by the jacket, but after I put it on then it became a part of me like Venom's skin. The workmanship on this jacket is amazing.
Since they had my size in stock and Shelly said it's a limited line, the hook, line, and sinker deal was done.
In short, I prematurely bought my own Christmas present. This is one present where wrapping won't be necessary. ;)

A bit over the top for me, but if it fits like a glove, you really can't go wrong...
Design's not my cup of tea, but I have to say, Dainese quality's incredible. Hope you enjoy it!
Can't beat Dainese ...at least you can take those Tats off when you are done w, your ride. Dolph :)
Dainese can definitely pull that off. Very cool. [thumbsup]
p.s. tilted pocket is a nice touch and even functional
It wont be long 'till Icon copies this idea.
Damn I really wish I had a D store by me
I have to admit the design wasn't an instant hit for me. But as I looked at it more, it reminded me of the old Japanese tats and prints. Then I read this was part of Dainese's inspiration, so yah. I only have one tat, but maybe my next will be of this style.
Here's a close up to show the workmanship. I'm sure it wasn't hand stitched, but nonetheless, it looks like a very time consuming process.

So will the cops
Gettin' it back to back from the newlyweds! I can see it now. Both of you are at home, "Hurry, it's my turn!" ;D
wow.
I thought I was dead set on a Delmar.. but now.. I might have to get one of those.
Some day when I can afford the price tag, that is. Maybe next bonus check.

Actually, for those few occasions we are home together, we have 3 different computers (2 personal, 1 work)...makes for better domestic relations. ;)
Looks fantastic. What's the price?

Semyhr: I hope you're sitting down... $850.00. And yes, I wear it bed. [thumbsup]
If you're interested in the full suit, it'll run a mere $3500.00 :o
Congrats. That's cool lookin'. Can't wait to see it in person. [thumbsup]
Bad ass jacket! I like the shoulder pads especially.
I was just at the SF d-store a week ago and bought a jacket and pants but I didn't see that jacket or i would have bought one. I have been drooling over it on the Dainese web site. Excellent choice!

Thanks! They just got the jackets in late last week. Dainese also makes a tattoo helmet, but we won't see it here in the states cuz it's not DOT approved. :'(

Very nice jacket. The stitching is damn amazing. The new Rapture and Trophy jackets are very nice also.
I had to leave the store before I bought the Tattoo.

Sorry I didn't notice. Not knowing what size I was, I started with 50 and went up from there. Stopped when I got to my size and didn't go higher.
I'm friendly with the manager at the D Store I lurk at. I can ask her if you'd like.

Thanks Andy, I can call Kim or Art myself on Tuesday, or check w, Dan at the D Store in San Fran. Dolph :)
Hi, Dolph. I live 10 mins from the San Francisco D store. I'm planning to be around there running errands, so I can drop by to see if they have a 60. If so, I'll ask them to hold it under your name. I assume you want the one with the white tattoo? They make one in black, too. It's not as pronounced as the white and blends in with the black leather, so I bought the white one. Love it!

I spoke to her this morning.
in 60, only black/black is available right now.
Black/cream will be available in April.
Andy
The SF store has a white in 60. As you mentioned, contact Dan.
Here's a pic of their tattoo line. The trophy jacket is coming out later. It has some shiny panels . I really dig the tattoo helmet, but too bad it won't come to the states. :'(

The suit on the left looks my grannies table cloth.
The trophy jackets looks cool, minus the shiny.

I saw the Trophy at Costa Mesa. It's pretty nice. Kind of like an old-school Wild Bunch jacket.
I liked the liner on the rapture and tattoo better tho.

Cannot stop thinking about this jacket [roll] Our shop will have the new Dainese stuff in March.
Maybe you could post some more pictures like how it looks like on the bike or something like that? I have searched the whole internet and there are practically no pictures, just the official stuff :-\

It seems like there is not a version with the tattoo in black and the shoulder pads in silver/gold color. I had that visualized in my head ;D

We've not received the suits as of yet, but they will be quite pricey due to the labor costs involved. Expect close to $3500.

If I still have a job in the summer and the company gives it's normal bonus, I'm totally getting a tattoo jacket.
Tried one on, fit so nice. looks nice. The stitch work is amazing.
If only the price wasn't what it was.

I have the Dainese Laguna Seca jacket, a textile jacket (forget the name), and now the tattoo jacket. Of all 3, the tattoo fits the best. With the shoulder armor on the outside, the jacket fits much better. I absolutely love this one! [thumbsup]

I haven't had much time to wear it since it's been raining so much. Yesterday, I went out for a nice spring ride down to King City. Along with the blooming flowers and chirping birds, bugs are also out to enjoy their short lived lives. Unfortunately, we prematurely ended several hundred of their lives in a few short hours.
The aftermath

BTW, the lovin' is not man made [roll], it's Dainese leather conditioner. They sell a protection & cleaning kit I highly recommend buying. That cleaner took off the baked on bugs with ease. The conditioner will soften and help protect your investment.
sadly i had to put my tattoo buying wishes on hold with threat of layoff rearing it's ugly head.

That Dainese protection and cleaning kit is a relabeled cleaning product by leather masters, their tiny logo is actually on the Dainese bottle. You can find it on-line for half the price / double the amount of the Dainese kit.http://www.leatherworldtech.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=LMSC250 (http://www.leatherworldtech.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=LMSC250)

I was sure there were other similar products, but the D-Store is only a 10 min ride and this kit should last a while. Just used it again after another bug ride.

It's not a knock off. It's just a really old jacket. It wasn't called the Tattoo, however. It was appropriately called the "Tribal". It was best worn over your shoulder with your shirt sleeve rolled up to expose your fresh barbed wire arm band tattoo. Helllooooo 1996. [laugh]
