I've got the next 5 days off and don't really feel like doing the Christmas thing. What I really want from Santa is to ride some good roads. I'm thinking about packing a tent and heading down to Koyote Ranch for a few days. Campsites are $15 $25 a night (no wilderness sites because of the fire ban). Leaving Wednesday or Thursday and back before the weekend. Anyone interested?
Weather looks good:

Wish I could, but you know family and all. Red mentioned a Saturday ride, I may be able to go. We will see.
If you make it down to the ranch and are looking for a day trip, I'll be down at my parents in Wimberley through saturday, which is about 77 miles east on some good RR/FM roads. You are more than welcome to swing by and hang out . I'll PM you my cell #.

Cool. Yeah, I figured it was a long shot that anyone would be free to go.

Ahh very cool. Thanks Stan.
Heck, I was thinking of doing just that very thing Will just described but there was no one who was available. i would virtually be able to do it from Thursday thru Saturday. I'd have to be back up here by Saturday night though. I'd like to ride all I can before my carpul tunnel surgery in Jan.

My plan is to depart Thursday morning and hit some of the fun roads southwest of Fort Worth on my way down. Hoping to get to K.R. by 3 or 4 so I have plenty of time to set up camp and grab some dinner before it gets dark. I'll stay Thursday & Friday night, then start the return trip Saturday morning. It would be great to have company if you can make it. [thumbsup]
I'm all packed and ready to go. I'm flying solo, so wish me luck and send good Christmasy vibes my way. Here's a Google Earth file of my planned route down and the roads I plan to be riding on Friday. Merry Christmas everybody! [thumbsup]

As I was taking spousal unit out to the airport this morning along 183 in Hurst I saw the Blue Streak all loaded up with the rider crouched down low flying in the fast lane. I could think of no other person who be doing that outside of Will. So, I'm going to assume that was you WiWa. What a day to ride too. I know I'm going to have to get out before the weather decides to change and enjoy the sunshine.
Have a great trip dude and check in to let us know how it's going. PICS or it didn't happen you know! Although I can vouch for you now.
Thanks RED! Yep, that was me crouching to keep the chilly air out.
Eating dinner in Kerrville right now before heading down to kr. The ride down was perfect once the clouds burned off. Got to try some new roads that were a great warmup for the roads I'll be doing tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a great day. I'll post more tomorrow.
Sounds like fun. Wish I was there. I pity your tires.
In Leakey now at "The Feed Lot" for lunch before hitting the three sisters. Weather is perfect!! ;D [Moto]
Have fun!

I didn't get a chance to post up yesterday. My phone was dead when I left the H.C. I ended up heading to my bro-in-laws ranch near Centerville to visit the fam. On my way back home right now but had to stop for gas and some coffee to defrost.
I'll post up when I get home.

Yeah it worked well. I was able to fit my tent, thermarest, and sleeping bag in the blue duffel, my clothes in one side bag and all the other camping stuff in the opposite bag. I guesstimate I was toting an extra 50-75 lbs.
