Title: Second hand DP ECU
Post by: darrenl1 on December 25, 2008, 01:42:55 PM
I am looking at buying a second hand termi exhaust with DP ECU and open air box
but have been told that if the ECU has been fitted to a bike that it will not work
on any other bike.
Does anyone know if this is true?

its only true if the person plugged it in and "mated" it to the guages.

of course there is no way of knowing if he did until you try it.

How much is he asking is a big question. theres plenty of people selling termis and you could always go to the minor sponsors on the left hand side and look for Monstermash. he flashes ECUs and turns them into DP ECUs.

Did anyone here actually get their ECU reflashed?

Capo,
I've just sent my girlfriends ECU to him, as soon as I have it back we'll have the answers everyone's looking for. I expect (or should I say hope) to have this settled before the end of January.

//Sorry OP for the threadjack, and what's said above is true, if it's been "mated" using the red key then it will only work with what it's been mated to. But if it's not mated it's still virgin and can work with most any bike.

I have an un-mated DP ECU on my S4RS. Unless I sync it up with my red key it will work on any other bike of the same model. As an added bonus I can simply have keys cut with the diode.
