Title: Intro for DesmoDog
Post by: DesmoDog on May 12, 2008, 02:27:35 PM
My name is Craig

I'm in Dexter Michigan
I've been riding since 1991
Bikes I own right now are:

2000 996 - basically stock, it's the closest thing I have to a "daily driver" bike.
1991 907ie  - First bike I ever owned, bought it new.
1974 750 GT - Spent a little over 3 years rebuilding that one, now it's rideable so the rebuilding has stopped but it's not "done" yet.
1966 250 Monza - project bike. This one is becoming a 350 Bitsa cafe racer but is #3 on the project list. I'm basically just collecting parts for it right now.
1966 160 Monza Jr - Project bike, this one is being built into a 160 TS. Not many stock parts left on it. It's my main project right now.
196? Bitsa - Project bike. Being built from a bent and battered 160 Monza Jr frame, using the engine from the aforementioned 250 plus a lot of other left over parts.

Gone but not forgotten, my 1995 900ss... a great bike...

I'm here because I want a Monster, but I'm out of room at the moment! No reason not to keep in tough with the Monster world though.

As for doughnuts, I'm more of a cookie guy - chocolate chip cookies to be specific. Along those lines I firmly believe that Oatmeal raisin cookies are the transvestites of the cookie world. They look so inviting from afar, but when you get up close and personal it's such a huge let down...

Welcome Craig!  That's quite the garage you've got! [thumbsup]

Hey!

It's not so much the garage as the (walkout) basement... When we saw the house I only agreed to buy it if I could have control of that for my shop...

Anywhos, since I've just discovered the embed video feature, I'll try to embed a video... My '74 "Ugly Duc"

I'm BAAAAACCCKKKK….   ;)

My quest for a Monster back then ended up with me buying a 1997 900ss/sp instead. I love SP's. Anywhos, that bike went away when I found a deal on a new 796 Hypermotard a few years back. That bike was great fun up until this summer when the height of it started to bother me, and I was getting more nervous about the plastic tank each year. So I came up with a plan that ended with me a buying a Monster next spring.

Well, I guess it wasn't a great plan. I went to the dealer yesterday intending to put the Hyper on consignment, and ended up bringing a new bike home with me. So much for plans. Meet my new 2015 monster 1200S!

It took a lot of years but I'm finally a Monster owner. I hadn't intended on bringing a bike home yesterday so I didn't have much time to ride, but once it gets above freezing here I can take it out again today and put some more miles on it!
