Title: New Year's Revolutions!
Post by: Duc L'Smart on January 03, 2009, 08:04:10 AM
Sure, I know it's cheesy, but WTH...

This year I'm gonna get all 6 bikes running & street legal, brush my teeth more often, lose 10 pounds, & be nicer to the Westies ;D

That might be a close race, at least to 40 or 50...
The Vespa's lighter & is 2 stroke, but tops out at about 65.
The Toaster might pull ahead just 'cause of the bigger motor.
Maybe I should take them both to a track day?!? ;D

I conducted this same race in 1989, and the toaster smoked the vespa.  Good thing, too, because I was talking some SERIOUS shit at the time...

In terms of resolutions, it's always the same:  drink more.  I'm well on my way...!

I'm telling you, create a track inside the warehome and let us at it......of course, dust the floor first so I have at least half a chance at rounding the first pylon.

Worked on the Toaster yesterday...
I added a pig-tail for the battery tender, topped up the water in the battery (kickin' it old skool style), & aired up the tires.
All I need are 2 new screws to hold the side panels on, & I'll be through with that one.
Today, I start putting the 1098 back to street [thumbsup]

5) Try and get back to the DFW area at least once this year!  8)

...so to install the above mentioned piece, all you have to do is take off the tail, then remove the exhaust, then undo the license plate bracket & wiring :P

You wouldn't have to replace it if you didn't keep breaking it!  The tires are supposed to be on the ground, not the tail section!  And how about some fresh rubber while you're at it?  Looks like an alligator has been chewing on your tire.

Huge thanks to AMS-D! They were great to schedule a time when I could have the recall work done while I waited.
New battery compartment & heat shield (voltage regulator had already been done).

Looking good. Nice to see it in racy street clothes again.

What's different about the new battery compartment area? Looks kinda the same.

oh..... no doubt I could be faster there.....i had no idea the suspension was holding me back that much.  I rode the R6 Sunday and was the fastest in the corners that I had ever been.....not one time did I lose my comfort zone either.  It's track time [thumbsup]
