Cleaning my chain today and noticed that I've got the link, and the plate, but the actual clippy-thing that goes on top of the plate to hold it all on... is missing. Anyone got one lying around?
Ryan- If you get the brand of chain off your nameplate you can get a masterlink at Cycle Gear. I know the one on Cave Creek usually stocks them. Whean you snap that bad boy back on there you want to make sure there's some back pressure on the clip. If it's loose let me know and we can use the chain tool to get it snugged up. Also, some people put a dab of silicone on to keep it from popping off, or I have even seen safety wire on there somehow, but not sure how that worked.
I've lost more than 1 "clippy-thing" in the past. Once the sideplate was found missing too. I always use safety wire but it is really tough with .020 wire and twist pliers are something not everyone has so I recommend that dab of RTV (siicone) the "red" holds up best with high temp. DG
Chain is RK 520 XSO in case anyone has an extra clippy thingy.
It's kinda kinky, but it doesn't have many miles on it. I think a good lube and tension adjustment will serve it well. I'll check with CycleGear. Thanks.

Kinky chains and good lube go hand in hand.
Cave Creek CycleGear gave me a free clippy thing. [moto]
