Title: Replacing Windscreen and Instrument Cluster on an '09 696
Post by: jaeone on January 04, 2009, 05:32:04 PM
Hi all. I recently purchased a "red" salvaged 696. It needs the cluster replaced. I have another cluster that i got off another "black" salvaged 696 I purchased. My understanding is that you can just plug and play the instrument clusters. When i plug in the working "black" cluster onto the "red" bike, i cant start the bike anymore and it reads "immobilzar" on the cluster screen. Any advice? Do i need to get the dealership involved to install a new cluster on the "red" bike?

any help, please advise.

Thought the clusters and the ECU are matched.

You would need the matching ECU from the black bike and the Code for the bike.
