Wow! ArtBike! love that.
Roll the credits!
:o LOOKS GREAT SCOTT!! [bow_down]
Dang, now I'd hate to see that go down on the track! Maybe this time put the 1098 in the living room! That's too gorgeous.
I wonder what the bike will look like at 160 MPH. ;D

Wow, thats all I have to say.
Very, very cool! It's great to see it all together on the bike!

Very nice Scott. ;D [thumbsup]
Thanks all!
No, that bodywork will never see the track...
Hopefully it'll be parked in Arie's next show at Gerald Peters Gallery [thumbsup]
Sweeet [thumbsup]
It's nice to finally see them. [clap]
:-\ [puke]
honesty counts, right?
I think it takes art (stock paint scheme) and destroys it.....
That's pretty unique, that for sure. I like the painting on the side of the car where it looks like a nekkid chick is driving it.
Thanks for sharing Scott. I've seen tons of "stock" skins before. It's cool to see something different. [thumbsup]
It would be cool to see it on a ride, too bad there are no headlight holes.

When I rebuilt my R6 I considered painting it like the BMW Andy Warhol M1
I can't imagine how difficult it would be for an artist to paint on a 3 dimensional canvas like that. A flat canvas has no crevices and no concave or convex surfaces to alter the sense of depth or shading so an artist has a fixed plane from which to build a scene. Painting onto an object that will be viewed from an infinite number of angles would wreak havoc with a traditional painters sensibilities I'd imagine. I'd be interested to know what Arie thought of this.

that's all I have to say about that
DLS,
what's the story behind the art? Did you ask him to do it? Did he ask you? Was he in the warehome one day and say that he wanted to paint your 1098? I was always interested on how this came about. I've seen it at your pad about 4-5 times, but never inquired.
I've known Arie about 12 years, & I do all the photography of his paintings, & also portraits of him, for his catalogs & web site.
We barter, so i've got about 2 dozen of his paintings... I don't know where I got the inspiration, but this last go-around I asked Arie to paint the track skins. He was reluctant at 1st, but the more we talked, the more he got into it. He had free reign, with no input from me. [thumbsup]

Thanks for the link but I've found the internet to be too cold and impersonal for my taste when it comes to conversations about experience.
I totally agree with that.... you have no idea how many times people have read my words in a different way than i meant to type them.......
