Kilgore
Going thru fire wood like crazy.
It's been 0.0 for a few hours in MSN. Hopefully we'll cross into positive territory for the first time in a few days pretty soon!
Wish I had firewood. I'm all out :( Bought the house in Nov and didn't have a chance to scrounge much.
was all the way up to 15 today. Not too bad.
Temps are going back down, I hate when my beer freezes withing 15 mins [bang]
Its doing it over and over.

The Packers suck and now this.
Kilgore
Come August the Packers were be "good" again and we may be missing the colder temps..... my beer will be unfrozen by then
I keep my beer in my pants, that way it won't freeze.

Im going to be out of fire in about 2 weeks.
But got a load in on tuesday, Today I got started. Its going to be green next fall, but this will last me for 2 years easy.
Now I need a early spring ,and a super fast motorcycle ride.

My digs, Kilgore Trout
Kilgore, do you just have a fireplace?
No fireplace. I heat with a Fisher woodstove. It does a great job, providing I cut enouf wood.
I started on the wood pile yesterday. The photo is about 12 cord. At 80 dollars a cord.
Now to cut, split, throw, stack and repeat,, over and over untill the whole yard is nothing but racks of wood.
I have a corn burner. Works good besides the fact that I have to fill it twice a day.
Sure beats LP prices [thumbsup]
If I could find it for $80/cord I'd probably buy. Guy at work would split a load with me but so far neither of us has come up with a decent priced source.
That looks shy of 12 cord to me though - more not in pic?
I'm on natural gas for my FA furnace so it's pretty cheap. A cord of cut/split/semi-seasoned oak/beech/maple cost me 145. Seems to be lasting about a month.
Sure would like an add-on furnace instead of my setup, but hopefully I can modify it for better heat distribution.
Looking for a splitter if you know of one :) I like manual splitting but my wrists and elbows cant' take much. 2 cords this winter. ouch!
Yes it s a honist 12 cord. Like 3 or 4 stacked at the camra and whatever left to right and another cord out of photo. Belive me these gies deliver right down to the stick, no x tra thats for sure.
This load so far has been easy to split ,, one whack.
Corn stove,, so cool. One season to grow, heat source. Mid America. And you can make booze . Or run a Jawa speedway bike. And thay work good.
Lady Propaine ,, I got her as the back up, but doesent heat like the woodstove.
I made a face cord or so this afternoon. Gonna get into shape for dirt riding in the spring.
Kilgore Trout ,,, over and Out
Theres apparently a place in green bay that delivers 13cords at a crack, gonna call them tomorrow to find out the price and if they'll deliver. Not to MY house. hell no! friends got 18 acres I'm sure we could find a place to drop it.
Better news is A guy took my offer of half his asking price for a pile of wood. Now I gotta start cuttin it and hauling it home.
