Title: New Yellow 1098...
Post by: rule62 on January 14, 2009, 10:40:07 PM
...front fender on my Monster 620.   [laugh]  gotcha!!!

It bolted right on.  I'm not entirely sure I like it as much as the 748 fender that it replaced.  It's definitely shorter behind the forks and surprisingly more flimsy in comparison to the 748 piece.  Time will tell whether it will stay.

Also... I've been working on buffing the scratches out of my headlight fairing that it acquired during my get-off last year.  I've got it to a point where the scratches are no more noticeable than any other wear and tear on my bike.  The thing is, I'm so used to the way my bike looks without the fairing, that when I put it back on, I'm not sure if I like the way it looks anymore.

It probably just doesn't look right without the man purse under the headlight... [thumbsup]

Glad you took my suggestion and decided to buff the marks out/down to where they blend in... always worth a try.

My Monster does not have the fairing because  1. it did not come with one (2002's did not)  2. I don't like the look of them  3. I hear that they are kind of worthless anyway  4. If I were to get one I would have to repaint it to match my bike

But I say you should put it back on... make our bikes look even more different.

I suggest we all go to Friday night drags and Rule62 and Yellow monster race for Yellow. Loser has to repaint his bike.  [thumbsup]

I don't know man....I think Rule62 has and unfair advantage with a now more aerodynamic front fender.  Plus there's a rumor floating around that he's been practicing his launches and has a special skunk werx type mechanic.  8)
