I bought a pair of Revit Tempest gloves just before Christmas but the bike was out for repairs and I only got to ride with them a couple of times before the bike broke. Now that the bike is fixed I've pulled them out and given them a few rides.
The fingers are a bit long IMO. My thumb touches the inside of the glove but the other fingers are about 3/8" long which makes precision movements difficult. I have difficulty dealing w/ the D-ring on the helmet with them on and any zipper that doesn't have a long tag on it ain't going anywhere. The liner in the glove is also very loose. Loose enough that it's on the verge of letting my hands slip inside the glove and making throttle use difficult but not quite there. It is loose enough that the liner has a tendency to fold or bunch up and become painful when holding the bars for a while. It feels like you're holding a small piece of rope along the bar and the pressure is annoying and a little painful. Sometimes I can wriggle around my hand a bit and get the wrinkles/folds in the liner to go away but not always. :( The liner is also annoying as hell if your hands are wet, more on this later.
Warmth-wise they're about as war as my old Tourmaster gloves but they're lighter. Riding around in the 40s can be nippy and my hands started sweating when I worse them riding in the 70s.
Construction looks good if you neglect the loose liner thing. I yanked on them pretty good to get them on today and nothing seemed to give or tear so that's a plus. I had no loose threads or anything. Well, I take that back. There are little grip pieces sewn onto the index and middle finger tips and look like they could rip off. We'll see how long they last.
While they are decent cold weather gloves, I hate them for wet weather. They are pretty water resistant but I don't think they're water proof. The also have no wiper blade. The main reason why I say they are not rain gloves is because the line grabs anything that is wet and won't let go. If you were riding in the rain and stop for gas, be careful taking the gloves off because even the small amount of dampness you might get on your hand from picking up the wet gloves will make it nearly impossible to put the gloves back on because the liner will stick to your hands before your hand is even half way into the glove. And when the liner bunches up on you after you finally get your hand in there's no fixing that. >:(
Because I bought these gloves as replacement rain gloves I am thoroughly disappointed with them. I know someone else bought a pair of Celcius gloves. Care to post up a review of those as well?
edit: The gloves are still soggy 24 hours after I last used them. >:(
