So I arrive at work this morning with a message waiting on my phone that a couple of the sales guys need a hand unloading a new item for use in promos for Corona. I head out to the warehouse and find this sitting in one of our trucks waiting to be unloaded...

So they are going to be using it as part of the displays for Corona promos. It is one of the Jake Holden 2008 CBR1000RRs. And yes, that is a Lime in the hideously cool paintjob.
does the bike have a kickstand? I ask because that rearstand doesn't look so hot and like it is being used and leads me to believe that it is a replica and not one of his actual bikes because a race bike of that level would never have a kickstand on it.
i've completely lost track of where you work...

my bad....but still...it looks like it is on a kickstand which goes back to my point of a mock bike, cause a racebike wouldn't have a kickstand on it.
It's a promo bike. (i.e. test bike) but the morons had it leaning against the pallet next to the bike because they couldn't figure out the stand. And I am guessing it's an early early test bike since it is actually an '07...
Engine, suspension, and brakes are all there and real but the electronics have been stripped and replaced with a cardboard mockup. *sigh* and I was so looking forward to thumbing the starter...
Derby: I am the LAN/WAN Admin for the largest beer distributor in Iowa. We have Crown Imports, A-B, InBev, Sam Adams, and Goose Island are our big brands with several regionals and locals. 75% of all of the Budweiser sold in the state comes from us and 53% of all beer.
We have a promo Corona Jeep as well and they are looking into getting some of the larger grocery stores to allow them to pull the Jeep in with the bike on a 5x8 trailer on the back for big displays...

[laugh]
Tell me about it. I walked out there and am like OK guys...stick to selling beer because you have no mechanical ability whatsoever.
btw, jake wasn't riding for corona honda in '07. unless you think they were testing with this bike in early '08, before actually getting '08 machinery.
...which i'm not sure why they would do, considering the '08 bike was all-new. and i'm pretty sure the '08 bike existed before the end of the '07 ama season.
...anyway. ;)
I haven't watched a single AMA race in maybe 7 or 8 years. So I couldn't tell you. All I was going with was what the Corona rep was tellin the sales guys while I was getting the bike on the rear stand. ???
Still pretty cool!
