Now my ever-suffering housemate can put up with my cars and my bikes, but she probably wouldn't cope with me getting further sloshed in front of the computer catching up on Youporn videos...

You know I thought the same initially (in a jocular fashion), but I was impressed that he also checked out things (like the cable). Some of the heights we was jumping from had my groin wincing a little. Riding the train track and then changing direction was impressive.
