I was at Fay Myers on Saturday, and they had their first 1198s. They had it for a couple days, and it sold while I was there... I'm so jealous of the guy that bought this. I'm not sure if it is the first in the state, but could possibly be. They were supposed to start receiving this at the end of March beginning of April.

I like the black swingarm, not sure about the gold frame/wheels though...I liked the '08 R a lot but this just looks a bit off IMHO...
The only thing I question is the rear footpegs, kind of a silly thing they are, have to check one out in person to get the full picture.
I think it's 100% pure sex on wheels... [moto] [evil]
I didn't like the red frame on the red body work of the '08s. I really like the gold frame and wheels. Took a picture with my camera, so the colors aren't so hot. All the blackened parts really looks good, but agree about the rear foot pegs, they should be black.
The bronze frame and wheels set off the red paint as perfectly as a red Ferrari with tan leather interior. Gorgeous. You can buy these in Colorado Springs too, I heard...
that looks to be a new wheel design too, eh?
I agree. The gold wheels and frame need help in the form of black powder coating....
Here I fixed it for ya...

The wheels remind me of a 996 wheels. I don't know if they did that on purpose, but I wouldnt be surprised if they did.

Bulldog, I'm wishing I could swap my black wheels for the gold ones off the new M1100S. Or powder coating them white to match, that would be sweet.
Take it from me who had powdercoated Red wheels you want the color of brake dust.... ;D

I know, you're right. But when it's clean, it looks so good!
Back to the 1198, I messed with the traction control settings on the one here in Colorado Springs, and it's as easy as resetting the clock. Haven't ridden it though. Met a guy from Washington who has a 1098R, and he says the traction control never comes on during street riding. But, the 1198's traction control is supposed to be improved. It's two stage. Stage one cuts ignition, stage two cuts fuel if the wheel is still slipping.
I think the red frame is sooo much better, especially on the black (but I am biased).
Would love the black swingarm though
I gotta get me one of those. 8)
