Hey guys,
I just put my new Ducati performance red anodized clutch plate on last night with my speedymoto springs and caps. I torqued the bolts down to 5nm just like the instructions said but the clutch feels a little light. The lever seems to travel further before the clutch engages (or disengages) when I pull on it. It seems to operate ok, but is there an adjustment for the lever somewhere? or some other way to adjust this?
thanks
There should have been a mark on the pressure plate that lines up with the hub post that has a groove on it.
with these aligned the plate clicks down into place, without it aligned...it doesnt go down far enough.
might want to check these were lined up first
it was aligned I checked it when I installed it.
I don't know what the levers look like on your bike but the levers on my bike have a little screw that adjusts the contact point on the lever. It's right in front of of the pivot point.
That adjustment is for lever free play. You want 1 - 1.5 mm free play. Is it possible you cured a stiction problem while changing the plate, like the push rod binding in the throw out bearing?
Turns out I think it was ok. I think its just been so long since Ive ridded due to winter that it felt funny. I was out on the Monster this weekend and it the clutch felt fine.
thanks for the suggestions anyhow.
classic case of "i touched it and now its not the way it was" itis. [thumbsup]
