Simple question here, and I ask because 1) I genuinely don't remember the answer 2) I need the answer for the work I'm doing this week - for real!! and 3) there was tons of stuff over at TOB on this.
I am going to be installing Rizoma Track 1's all around (2007 695, BTW) and I also have resistors to wire in.
I know they go in parallel, but I don't know which wire!
Can someone tell me where the wire is located to wire in 2 resistors in parallel to work for all 4 turn signals getting replaced with LED indicators
(I think I threw in enough search terms there [thumbsup])
Hey Tommy,
You may not need the resistors at all. I wired up my 07 S2R1K with Rizoma Track 1's a few weeks ago and didn't bother with the resistors at all. I had heard that newer model Monsters may not need them so I tried it out that way thinking that I could add them later if the install went wrong. The LED's all blink at the proper rate without them. It may be different with a 695 but worth a try before you start having to cut any wires.
look at the bottom of page at the link below... there is a wiring diagram. By the way...I didn't need them on my bike either.

My 695 didn't need resistors.

I thought it is wired in serial as in cut one wire and slide it in? ???
EDIT: My bad...Parallel it is.

No it's parallel. As noted, you may not need them at all.
If you do - here's what I did on my 900
-Went to radio shack and got the supplies to make some 2.5" wires that I could plug into the ends of the bikes harness on one site, and then plug the signal into on the other side. You'll need enough to make 4.
- Installed said 2.5" wires between the bikes harness and the rear signals, so everything can be tucked under the seat.
- Using crimp on taps, I tapped into the 2.5" sections making a parallel circuit with the signal
Uber simple ascii diagram:
|-LED-|

|-Res-|

From the bike
THough you don't need to build those 2.5" bits - it means you won't damage the wiring by tapping into the bikes harness.
The flasher on the immobilizer bikes is electronic. Some LED signals will work without resistors on your bike, some won't. I would try without first, you might get lucky

Yeah, get this one...
So I've got everything mocked up, the left blinkers are fine - normal speed. The right blinkers blink ONCE in regular speed, then go in to hyper blink mode.
Looks like a resistor gets installed tomorrow (oops - I mean in about 18hours... it's 1:30 in the morning...) [coffee]
Everyone - thanks for your help and suggestions.
Installed both resistors and everything works perfectly [thumbsup]
Hey DucAtomic - you got a pic of your Rizoma lights - i've got a S2r1000 also and am thinking of putting on a bit of rizoma bling. would love to see it. [roll]
No problem, Q - PM me and I'll send you a pic of my bike with the Rizoma's on it.
