Title: Poor guy!!!
Post by: timmer357 on May 14, 2008, 12:24:13 AM
So this is a craigslist ad in Portland, Oregon.  The gentleman is attempting to sell his S2R1K that he took delivery of on 05-05-08 and it has 27 miles on it.  I feel for the guy, but some of you sadistic clowns will probably get pleasure in his pain. [evil]

Here is the link if you don't buy it:

I really do not want to explain the absolute make the beast with two backsed-up Comedy of Errors that has led to my owning AND now selling this BRAND NEW 2008 Ducati Black Monster S2R 1000 motorcycle. Enough tears have been shed and a 40th birthday completely ruined. Let us sum it up with the explanation SHIT HAS HAPPENED --- and leave it at that, shall we? (I really thought she wanted one...)

This bike was delivered on May 5, 2008 (yes, a whopping 6 days ago) and has 27 ... count them, twenty-seven ... miles on it.

It has the full carbon-fiber racing exhaust system by Termignoni (installed by MotoCorsa) which adds 13% power and an UNBELIEVABLY WICKED sound. It has been lowered a bit as the design allows without changing any parts. It also has the lower seat from 695 and CRG lane-splitter rear-view mirrors. Plus, I have a box with ALL of the take-off parts: mirrors, stock exhaust, ECU, air filter, airbox cover, etc. I also have an extra oil filter and oil for it if you want/need.

I would imagine it corners like a fiend, but I'll never know. God knows the torque in the low gears is enough to set your heart to racing.

The total package was just under $15,000 -- and the selling price of $13,750 is not negotiable since that what I owe on the loan and if I could pay off the loan then I wouldn't be selling it, now would I? However, you get to steal the $1,000+ cash I put down just because God has a sick sense of humor and MotoCorsa won't take it back.

SERIOUS inquiries only, and absolutely, positively NO TEST RIDES. You either know you want it (and you KNOW you want it), or don't bother. Email me and I'll call you back as soon as I pull my head completely out of my ass...

Sounds like he bought one for his lady, with the lowered suspension and the lowered seat.  Who the hell wouldn't want a brand new Duc for their birthday?   :-\   Sounds like he should be posting his girlfriend on Craigslist instead of the bike.   [thumbsup]

I agree, but at 40, it's probably his wife, and I hear those don't trade in so easily.

that's the big problem with human resources is that all your investment is in the training of your staff.

still, if she's not on board with the mission, vision, and values of the company it might be better to encourage her to find a better fit somewhere else.
