found this out there. i think it's about 200 cheaper than the DP one.

I assume this one will also fit a 1100S since they're the same frames, right?

Does anyone know if there is any advantage of this style of damper vs the one DP makes for the 696/1100?

Very nice! Now that its two pieces I might be more prone to buy one of them. I personally would love to see a damper that is top mounted for the 696.

do a search there is a top mounted one available that isn't DP and it's cheaper.

I just put an ohlins on my 620 race bike but I mounted it under the triple by making a bracket that attaches to the horn mount and using a fork clamp from a motowheels kit.  I thought this was the best option due to how the side mounts look like they could get really f'd with just a simple lowside at the track.  Look under the triple and it's obvous how I mounted it, worked great [bacon]
