I tried to log in, but my account was erased and when I tried to make another one, it asked me for an invitation code.
A little poking around confirmed that racingunderground has gone to invitation only status.
I know that a lot of people here are on the website and I was wondering if someone could pass me an invite.
Thanks!
EM
PM'd you
damn! they erased mine too. Thats how i watched Motogp all of last season lol. Elmatador, wanna invite me when you get yours?

I still have my account and I don't remember ever knowingly being a seeder.
Hey, is that why my router activity light is going crazy in the middle of the night? [roll]

maybe...
if you configured your client to connect and have your port forwarded correctly...
I'd say yes.
or you just left the app open long enough after getting stuff. i'm not really an active seeder either but according to RU my down vs up ratio is even.
Could I get an invite? I haven't downloaded much, but there were some races I couldn't see last year. If seeding is an issue, my torrent client is almost always open.
what is this?
me want!
I just let mine seed.
can i have a invitation? i'll promise to seed!!!

Thank you all in advance!!!
So they just erased everyone's account? And then made it invitation only? Or did my account get deleted because my download ratio was to far below my upload ratio? What's the deal? Need to get this figured out before the season starts. [coffee]

You downloaded far more than you seeded.
They consider that leeching.
Those are the accounts that were deleted. They had announcements last season that it was going to happen.
wow, that site sounds fantastic!
Anyone got a invite for me to? I got no problems with bandwith or seeding..

Well I guess I should have paid more attention. :-\ Hopefully I can get a membership again once my server is back up and running. Torrent clients and laptops = leeching.

Nope, just the way I use it. I work for an internet company and they frown on having ports open on the networks gears. [bang] So basically I don't leave the torrent program open when I'm not using it. I'm not even supposed to have it installed on my laptop. I downloaded the Laguna Seca MotoGP race from last season, and didn't leave the client on enough for the seed ratio to balance the one download. I'm not defending myself. I am totally a leecher, and I won't even pursue getting a membership till I have a home server that I can leave on all the time, on a network I can manage.
I think limiting the membership to the people with the proper seed ratio is great. Keeps the quality up and ensures better downloads. People that don't want to give back can always buy a subscription to MotoGP.com or what ever.
Besides, I was just trying to see myself on TV. ;D I worked Turn 3 for the weekend in Laguna Seca and caught a couple bikes during the practice sessions. Now I'm totally hooked on motorcycle racing. I can't wait for the season to start. [thumbsup]
could someone send me an invitation code cause It will be the only way ill be able to watch the superbike races

no.
Could I please get an envite? Pretty please
Me too. Please and Thank You!
I'm way too late to ask for an invite, but if someone can spare one I'd greatly appreciate it.
Speed sucks, and I will not let them ruin my '09 WSBK watching!
i would love to have an invite as well..
if anyone is willing to offer one up... i promise to be a good seeder.
just got the link for ivan from NMC..
and ill say this, for some other websites that you have to maintain a 1:1 to be good or somewhere near that.
it is impossible to maintain that ratio unless you seed the file when everyone wants it. aka within hours of the event. because if you download it later, most people already have it.
So with that said. i guess i wont be watching motogp and wsbk this year. :(
it's really no problem to just leave your 'puter on for a while after you grab something. my ratio is good without any real 'effort' on my part.

+1
My computer is on all the time anyway. My ratio is close to 3:1 with an max upload speed of 433 kbps. It's not difficult at all.

+1 Leaving your computer on for a little while after you grab some thing ONLY works if you just grabbed something the lots of people want.
All that being said I just got a torrent server running at home. It can be on all the time and has a configuration that won't suck up all my bandwidth. At least while I am awake.
I'm not going to ask for anyone for an invite. There is no reason to stake a reputation on my behalf. But seeing as RU is just a torrent tracker, can someone post up a link to the 2nd race on Phillip island. ;D
Watched the 1st race on Speed. [bang] Wasn't really gonna sweat it till I saw the race. Bad coverage and not in HD. Super weak!
the cameras aren't HD. nothing you can do about that.

Hi, Can someone send me an activation code for RU. I promise to be a good seeder.
I am stuck down here in New Zealand with no way of watching WSBK.
Thanks in advance.

+1, Ivan was kind enough to send me an invite, but it seems if i screw up, it affects him. not cool on my part, especially since i tend to download races a week later. The download taks 10 minutes because everyone is seeding it just to keep their ratio up. :(
Im gonna find another way in! is there anyway to upload it to isohunt? or something? like change the bit torrent information?
someone on the wera board posted the direct links to the torrents and now is -1tb on his RU account..

It's too late now, but in case somebody doesn't have Speed Channel (or even if you do have Speed and you want to see a little extra coverage):
mms://infrontsp.wmod.llnwd.net/a1386/o16/Free/WorldSBK/2009/BlockUS/20090301_SBK_PHILLIP_ISLAND_RACE1_FR.wmv

I've got Charter cable and the dvr sucks. It won't search future dates for 'motogp' or whatever, and it won't set series recordings for anything that isn't always on at the same time apparently.
To go through and do it day by day on the guide without knowing what time it airs on what channel is a pita.
Anyone know of sites other than RU that have mostly racing content? Not much luck on Torrent-finder, and no invite came to me so I guess I'll keep lookin.
with the proxy set-up and a motogp.com subscription you can watch wsbk and motogp online. or, get a tivo? the keyword/wishlist programming feature works great.

when you download a torrent from RU, it's tied to your account. that's how they track your upload/download ratio.
when he posted up "his" torrent for everybody that couldn't get an invite, everybody* leeched and didn't seed, pretty much killing his ratio.
*given the size of the file and his deficit, it was over 100 people downloading on "his" torrent.
i doubt he'll make that mistake again.
as an aside, RU will only give you "extra credit" up to a share ratio of 2.5. if they don't boot him, it'll take him the better part of the racing season to get "even" again.

Dish network had a good dvr that I really miss that would search for keywords. I may have to get rid of cable as a cost savings (except internet) due to work, so while buying a tivo would be nice, it would just put me deeper in the hole [bang]

your other doesn't-cost-you-any-more-money option is stay on top of the calendar and program your current dvr week of, or however far in advance it will let you...
http://www.superbikeplanet.com/calendar2000/ (http://www.superbikeplanet.com/calendar2000/)
http://www.speedtv.com/schedule/ (http://www.speedtv.com/schedule/) (beware the time zone drop-down)
if you get rid of cable altogether... find a buddy. ;)

I see. Thanks for clearing that up for me. SO basically you can't untie the torrent from an account and without RU enforcing seed ratios people will just download like crazy with out sharing. [bang]
Well at least RU has the type of membership that allowed them to make the rules and still have people cool enough to keep the ratio in the right.
Well since I got my server setup all that's left is to wait patiently till all the trolls stop asking for invites, and then maybe try some sort of bribery. ;D
Howdy guys
I've just joined this great site as I'm now a very happy Monster owner.
I also would like to get access to RU and don't have any dramas seeding files. If anyone can help me out that would be cool, if not no worries.
Cheers

Thanks El Matador, but for your information I didn't join this forum just for an RU account so please don't question my intentions.
I recently purchased my 620ie which is learner legal here in Australia and have been looking at joining a forum where I can talk, learn and possibly buy things about my newly found passion.
Sorry for not introducing myself accordingly today and then making such an inappropriate request on my first post. :-[
I'm really glad someone of your caliber is counting and commenting on such a trivial matter. Please keep up the good work. [leo]
Cheers
Paul
