I've got about 5600 miles on the clock. That means it's a couple of good riding weekends away from 6k and the 6k service. I bought the bike from Myers in Asheville. I really the folks at Myers, but to take the bike there will cost me an extra $100 in gas, if they can turn it around same day. It'll cost me an extra $200 if I have to go back for it. It's still under warranty, so I guess I need a Ducati certified shop. Is it worth eating the transportation costs to go back to Myers? Should I use Matisons or Barnetts? What the collective knowledge of the M-ROC think?

I used Barnett's. William did a good job and he's generally willing to let you into the shop and show you what he's doing.
i would also go to Barnetts over matisons.
i had my 6K done there, and everything went well. i was a little apprehensive when they asked if i wanted my valves checked. I doubt you'll need any adjusted however ... now at 12K that'll be a different story. i think they charged me ~280 for the 6K service (with no shims), but that was 3 years ago. I eventually figured out how to do everything myself.
at the 6K things aren't really broken in yet.
Barnetts
William is a good guy.

Funny...they said the same thing to me when I took my monster in for the 6K. Wasn't prepared for a choice. All was in spec, though. Unless you ride pretty hard, things are still in pretty good order. Maybe why they changed the intervals?
You should be fine at Barnett's. Maybe Charlotte as next option?

I think that you hit the nail on the head.

Your vavles were probably still in order after 30,000. ;D
