Title: Greetings from Belgium.
Post by: Maratom on February 24, 2009, 01:10:23 AM
Hi there fellow Ducati-owners,

I'm Tom and I live in a small country, Belgium, in Europe.
I bought my first Ducati, a M695 Dark, march last year. In the search for parts on the WWW, I came across your DMF and I immediately loved it. What an amount of pics and info !
Anyway, after looking around a little bit I thought it was time to do some posting my self.
Who knows I might have some interesting info to.

Greets.

welcome to the board Maratom!

pass the word to other riders in your area. it would be great to add a Belgian local board/club to the other international groups that are part of this community.

This is my bike :

So far, as shown on the pictures, I've replaced the indicator light caps, the mirrors and chopped the tail a little. I've also mounted framesliders but there aren't any pictures of that yet. And ordered Termignonis.

Welcome, Maratom. Beautiful bike!

I like the yellow treatment to the tag and how it matches the spring. Is that an accessory? Or is it how the tags are made (and you got lucky)?

I never thought of it that way.  It indeed matches the spring. We all have yellow tags with black writing in Belgium. A little bit luck though cause the tags for cars etc. are white.

Termis on their way  [thumbsup] You'll love, love, love, love, love them!

How did you shorten the beer tray? Or did you chop the tail to move the tray forward?

It is a similar, eh, fender to the original except it's a little shorter. I like the chopped tail but I feel like it misses a finishing touch when you just chop it right underneath the taillight. You do have to chop the frame a little by the way.

Welcome. Are there lots of Duc riders in Belgium?
And by the way, you folks have the best beer in the world IMO. I'm a big fan of the Corsendonk pale in particular  [beer]

Yes, we do have some very good beers. I'm more fond of a dark Ciney myself but the Corsendonk is really nice to.
I see you've got taste. I don't really know if there are more Duc riders in Belgium then there are in other countries (compared to other marks that is). But we did set a nice record (officially) of having the most bikes of the same brand and type at the same time at the same place !

This is the site of the Monster Owners Belgium, one of four official Monster clubs :
