Hello ladies and gents. I recently picked up a red M696, and I must say that it's a blast to ride. I do wish it had a little more aggressive riding stance and more ground clearance. But nothing a set of clip-ons and rearsets can't fix right?
Now with PHOTOS!!

Sorry for the watermarks. There's this guy that takes photos in the canyons of the 94 HYW here in SD.
Howdy and welcome Almazing. Glad you're having a blast with your monster. San Diego got some great riding routes. I do miss Palomar! We love to see pics of your new ride ;D
Have fun and ride safe [moto]

Welcome and congrats on the new bike! Good luck with the mods. [thumbsup]
Unfortunately, I can't post up any pics at the moment since my bike is STILL in the shop. Yes, it was dropped about a month ago and is still awaiting parts. No major damage at all. Cracked left side of the tank cover, damaged seat cowl, broken shifter peg, scratched left can. The frame sliders prevented the bike from any major damage. Do parts for Ducatis normally take this long? I understand the whole "shipped directly from Italy deal" but still. I bought a bike to ride it, not have it sit in the shop awaiting parts. As much as I love Ducati and the awesome bikes they make, and I hate to say this but, if the bike isn't fixed by the end of this week, I will consider trading the bike in for something I can actually ride and not have to wait a whole month for parts. Perhaps a Street Triple R or a Jap sportbike. At least then I know that if it gets damaged, it'll get repaired promptly.
Congrats! I had my Dark 696 delivered last week, and have been unable to ride :-[ go away snow!

Depends on the part, but it's not too unusual to take a month. If it's a warranty issue, they try to make it happen faster. Good luck.
So I finally got it back!! Yess!! I had them install carbon fiber Termis, and I must say, it makes me love the bike that much more!! It sounds amazing and super mean! It sounds like nothing I've heard before. It feels great to be back on the saddle again. I'll post pics as soon as someone's able to pry me off the bike hahaha.
Good to hear to got the bug back. Where in SD our located from I'm in La Jolla. Let's ride.
I live in Mira Mesa between the 805 and 15.
You ever go to the mira mesa bike night on thursday? There's always a gathering over there by the Starbucks close to the home depot.
I know about it, but I've never been. Aren't there lots of squids that go there?
Yeah, mostly squids. But I hang with more mature group at Little Italy for Desmo Night.
wish we had a Desmo night. i need to move out west.
Warning: Noob Content
whats a squid?
I've never been to Desmo night. I would like to go sometime though. When's the next one?
Oh and a squid is:
Stupid
Quick
Underdressed
Imminently
Dead
There you go :)
Almazing, The next desmo night is tonight. sponsored by DOCSD. starts at 6pm under the "little Italy" sign.
I'll be there at 6. come out and show your ride.
Can't make it tonight sadly. Work sucks. Is it every Thursday? I'm sure I can come out and make the next one though. I just need to clean my bike hahaha.
Actually it's every second thursday of the month. there's another desmo night in Incinitas being put togethr by NCBN next wednesday.
Get on DOCSD.com and check out the forum for "gathering".

I'm going to the Mira Mesa bike night this Thursday. You should head down. Since I got my bike, I haven't really been out going on meets and stuff. I've just been riding.
Ok, sounds good. i work in Mira Mesa, so that won't be a problem. My group/club will be there too. We should get Rene to show up with her new bike.
Jake.
When's the next Desmo night?
Great photos!!! Thanks for sharing! [thumbsup]
Thanks! The great photography actually masks my lack of skill and finesse hahaha. The 696 looks really small in those photos, and I'm a small guy(5'7").
I just traded the 696 for an 09 848. I do miss my Monster though. The 848 is like a torture rack compared to the 696, but it's so much more stable and it inspires more confidence than the 696 could ever give me. When I have enough money for a 2nd bike, I'll get another Monster, but until then, I'll ride the hell out of my 848. Thanks for all the help guys. It was a pleasure being a part of the Monster community!
