Ok, so yeah. I'm thinking it's a normal H4 setup, and I'm upgrading to a brighter PIAA. HOWEVER, I can't get the damn electrical plug free from the bulb prongs. Is there a trick I'm missing, or did Ducati Superglue it and thought it would be funny to us Americans!!? Lol
HEY!!! There YOU are. ;D
There was no trick on mine to get the bulb out.
*poof* and she returns! Well I got the H1 bulb out and replaced.. now why can't the H4 be that easy!??! Hmm...
Nothing's ever as easy as it should be. ;)
If you can see in there, check to make sure it's not melted first. I had a bear of a time getting mine out... discovered the factory plug had melted itself onto the bulb. Yoinked the whole thing out (it wasn't pretty), went down to Schuck's and bought a new H4 pigtail and spliced it into the OEM harness. Installed new PIAA and *poof* now it worky.
Ducati factory electrics are, sadly, not the most robust in the world. :-\ This was also witnessed when Chuck, Ryan, and myself discovered the melted connector between his 620's alternator and voltage regulator. Required cutting away bad wiring and replacing the connector with an aftermarket solution.
C'est la Vie. The things we do for our Italian machines...
Duc fan.. alas I think you have nailed it on the head. Two out of three want to come out. But pretty sure that third one is melted in. Well it's still under warranty.. lets see how much Brad loves me. Lol Being unemployed now... wellllll lets say I've got nothing but time on my hands. And what better way than to visit my happy 'candy store' in the NW!? ;)

Too bad they are not open on Mondays. So sad... On a side note... We need a West side garage day. Where you all can hang out in a garage and drink beer and pretend to work on our bikes. My garage is centrally located. [thumbsup] Tigard... behind Washington Square. We should all meet up.
If I can get my belts and a few other things I'd be happy to go through the whole service so everyone can see and ask questions. Your garage is close by so I just need to get the bike and tools over there. Anyone who wants can use the tools while I'm there.

Although I just bought a spring season pass to Mt Hood Meadows. There may be some unavoidable delays.

Ouch, sorry to hear that, 'Brina. :P I'd assume it's a warranty item, but if you have any trouble with getting it fixed under warranty, the good news is a replacement H4 connector/pigtail is cheap and pretty easy to install. Been there, done that. ;) If you're not comfortable fixing wiring yourself, I (and I'm sure several others) would be more than willing to help. [thumbsup]
Thanks guys!
Holy cow Ryan.. good lord you're all of what 10 min from my house?! I'm up near Scholls and Murray. :)
Tomorrow I'm going to MC. We'll see how it works out. :)
