My girlfriend and I plan to do some longer touring this summer on the ST3. Our plan is to ride across Newfoundland so there'll be lots of opportunity to talk and sightsee. She's made it clear that she wants to be able to chatter away with me while we're riding so I'm in the market for helmet communcations. Anyone have experience with these? Recommend a brand? I'd rather retrofit our current helmets than buy new lids with the coms already installed.
Thanks.

Scala rider Q2 hands down. It's what I used as a courier and it was the best system out there, easy to use and install and you can pick up the twin pack.
Thanks. I'll check them out.

Hacked together two frs voice activated hand helds with throat mics that worked ok, used them between riders for a trip from Toronto to Nashville. We were also able to port in ipods so there was music when someone wasn't rambling along about a sore ass. Still want to know if anyone uses a chatterbox and what they think of them? Other note, headphone in the ear, the speakers suck at highway speed.
It matters what kinda helmet you have. I found that the ear pockets on my X-11 were too shallow to accommodate ANY of the premade headsets w/o digging into the ear pocket with a knife. The Scorpion EXO700 that I have is too loud to hear the Scala Q2 at full volume at anything above 50mph. The Scala does work pretty well, though. Sadly it only has bluetooth 1.0 so it won't worth with a lot of the newer phones/mp3 players that are using A2DP (bluetooth 2.0).
Here's my review of the Scala Q2
