am i safe in my assumption that this is in dallas as usual!!
Plenty of time to get hammered at the Greeneville St. Patty's day parade and still make this. Can I ride cupcake with somebody on the M1100S?? No wheelies or you're coming off with me ;D
it's the least i could do since you were willing to wait on me on h/c rides. i will bring a pad to put between us though.
Perhaps an adult diaper

Ok, I'm a little confusticated about the times. Above it says 1100-1700 but below it says Race 2 starts at 1700. So, is the watching party elsewhere or are the Demos over at 1700 and the watching continues?
Steve
Dunno, I just pasted the email contents to the thread. Give AMS-D a call [thumbsup]
If I provide ID and insurance I can test ride any of the models you've listed?

Sounds like a question for AMS. AFAIK, they don't frequent this board, so you'll need to call.

This is how they did it for Hypermotard demo rides.

What, no waiver?
you better have your MC endorsement or you can't ride. at least that's what Scott did last time my buddy rode the Monster.
also they were giving me crap for no moto boots on for the HM ride (i had on sambas, per usual).

A wag of the finger to anyone riding without their motorcycle endorsement.

i rode the M1100, Much more confortbale than HM and better position but very close, Must be the shape of the seat that makes it. Lots of Power from the start Did wheelies in all 3 gears... if i wanted a new aircooled bike from Ducati that would be it!
Suspesnion was good but not many turns around Dtown to test it... but i was really impersed with the horsepower out of this aircooler! [bow_down] [thumbsup]

I kinda figured you'd get plenty of miles out of the
front rubber on the M1100.... [evil]
It looks like the weather forecast is a little more promising for Saturday. [thumbsup]
chris +1 be there about 1
That was fun. 1100s was fun. I'll let Dax elaborate.

Hmm, is someone possibly going to list a new bike in his sig? [evil]
no, no new bike yet. waiting on the non-Ohlins Street Fighter and the 1100 to come out. I will say that the damn 1100 will pop a wheelie in first (duh), second and third without feathering the clutch; strong as an Ox. I was WAY impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only draw back is the seat which smashes your nuts but Scott said they make a DP seat that will fix that......lets hope because I'm in the market after the wedding.
My opinion:
The 1100s much like the 696 is not a striking machine. When I look at the bike i think snubby. To me there's no other way to describe it. Snubby nose, snubby tail, snubby exhaust. The previous generation was elongated and elegant. Sitting on the bike didn't impress me either. You feel as if you're sitting on top of it and not on it. One feels forced onto the tank, much like a superbike.
It has it's charming bits (the tank, the exposed rear wheel) but this would hardly make me bite the $15K bullet just to say I own the new 1100s.
And then, the ride.
A twist of the throttle and a slight lean backwards and the front tire is airborne. 3rd gear? Easy.
Nail the throttle and keep the front tire on the ground. You expect this blinding surge to subside as the torque tapers off. It just pulls at a more frantic pace as the horsepower increases. The bike has too much power and it's a beautiful thing.
With my feet in place I felt less forced against the tank and that was a relief. Hopefully an aftermarket seat will completely cure this problem.
The AMS staff (especially Scott) is awesome. I'll be dealing with them from now on.
Oh ya, Ben Spies, you ROCK. Way to represent TX.

you will not need your nuts after the wedding. spend the money on termis instead.

nah, pre-nup baby! [evil] and Termis are always in order. just waiting to see which one I like best.
I've seen pictures of the full termi system, and the header pipes run under the motor and look much more serious. [thumbsup]

I have the DP sport touring seat installed on mine.. I too felt my nuts squashed (nothing like the 696), plus the stock seat is really soft ... Scott recommended the upgrade for me too..
does the seat work well?
Any pics of the Event?

I'll bet you a handsome sum the streetfighter will have too aggresive a riding position and you'll be happily seated on the 1100.
we shall see
Looking at the streetfighter pics, it is probably going to be very monster like. Imagine an SBK with about 2more inches of rise to the bars, that may not be so bad - of course, no one needs 155hp trying to toss and rip you off the seat [evil]

From what i've read, the tail and seat come right off the 1098. I believe it is a 1098 tank as well. Even with a 2 inch bar rise, I'm betting the bike will bend you over and force a lot of your weight on the bars. I get wrist cramps just thinking about it.
But we shall see. Hopefully it's more relaxed than what I'm expecting. I so want one.
