Title: Semi-Private Trackday - 3/30 at ECR
Post by: cm on March 12, 2009, 11:36:14 PM
I'm heading to ECR on Monday, 3/30 along with some friends.  If you'd like to go as my guest, let me know. Guest fee is $150 (payable to the track) and you will need previous track experience.  This is not an organized thing so you are on your own (no vendors, no ambulance...though there is an EMT available). There might be enough of us to make this a bike-only day so imagine 9a-5p open track with no car sessions in between! Probalby will have 10-12 bikes on track at the same time most of the day.

Let me know.

Still haven't made it to a track yet.  I keep saying I'm going to...been through the SV1000, the 636, the 625 SMC and now the hyper...still no track days  [bang]

Confirming that this is a bike-only day at ECR.  There will be 2 sessions per hour (1 session will have more conservative trackday rules - passing only on corner exit or straights, 10' distance; and the other is advanced trackday rules - 6' passing distance, pass anywhere).  Expect 7-8 sessions (9a-5p).  If you are up for it, you can even run both sessions, just paying attention to the 'rules' in each session.

Expecting about 20 bikes total...so even if everyone rides at once, it's no big deal. I expect the groups to sort out after the first couple of sessions so each group will likely have 8-12 riders per session so you won't see many people unless you're running about the same speed (and you're behind him/her).

It would be good to know who's going at least 3-4 days prior to the event. If you sign up too late, we may cut off the list since we don't want it getting too crowded.

No racing and it's a group of fairly mature riders so we expect everyone to be courteous with each other.  There are a couple of Ducs coming (maybe a 3rd one if I bring mine...which I will if I don't do the 3/26 AMS day).

Guys, if you've not been to ECR, I highly highly recommend it.  That track is a BLAST.  I lowsided my bike at this track, and even though it was a bummer that it happened (and put me out of comission since it put a hole in my oil cooler), it still didn't spoil my fun for the day...I have nothing bad to say about it.  LOVE THIS TRACK.

So get on it!
