Hey all,
It's supposed to be 55 this Sunday. I'd really love to see Montauk. Any one know of a good route to take from Manhattan that avoids the LIE/major freeways? I google mapped one, but I have no idea how many stop lights.

PM GLantern; He has one from about exit 57 to Sag harbor that we ride a lot. Some good sections. I would take old Montauk highway, it is scenic and has some good hills and turns. Never been out there on my bike but always wanted to take the trip.
PM inc to you Trppr
Is this ride official? I live in long beach and was going to go out sunday. Be great to ride with some others out to Montauk. Can I invite myself?
Did you go Trppr?
ArcDeDucati If you want to go during the week PM me.
Route 27 might be your best bet.
But once you hit the Hamptons it is really your only choice.
Their is a short cut I take that avoids a lot of traffic, but is tough to explain and I haven't done it in a while.
Looks like 80 runs all the way out to 27 as well.

I did not. I missed a ride with another forum group out east to Rockaway. So instead, I made my way down to the Jersey Shore. It was cold, but I had a great time. I definitely want to ride to Montauk this summer, so finding a way without the LIE is a project for this spring.
Wish I could go out this week, for sure. Thinking about where I'll head for the weekend.
