New sign planted. [thumbsup]
Thanks whomever did that!
This was a spot that took out 13 cyclists in 2007 according to local EMT. (A couple of us ended up muddy and busted up here as well [roll] )
A blind crest hides an "es" curve and a driveway before a deceiving re-aligning out in Marin on Tomalas-Petaluma Rd.
It became a sore spot again when the homemade warning "curve ahead" sign that was there disappeared in late 2008.
A particular MOBster riding DQ's S4R almost feel victim to this spot a couple of months ago as it looks like a good spot to open the throttle.
That ended in a close call in the wrong lane brushing the black berries. Who knows how many times a month that happens.
One small place slightly safer. Check [thumbsup]

Locals react to the new sign with joy, wonder and gratitude.

Milo-approved!
That even looks like an "official" sign. [thumbsup] (or is it home-made, too?) Did you guys write a letter or something? I forget the whole story. You should post up the link(s) related to it.

The sign is off-center on the post. I smell guerrilla signage.
If so, Bravo! Lets hope the county (or whoever took the last one) leaves this one alone.
It's an official sign cemented in.
it's just the light shining on one side of the 4x4
Well, then three cheers to the county!
Hip hip hooray!
Hip hip hooray!
Hip h--
Ooh! Break time!
Speaking of guerrilla... however.
DQ doing his best Brave-Heart impression. (battle axe, long sword in back seat)
While 'looking' at it's splendor, somehow the earth jumped up and got all over him. [laugh]

nice [thumbsup] i frequent that area, many thanks [bacon] [bacon]
All that's missing now is some curbing up by the turn. That and free lunch at Moto Java for those that made the new sign happen! [thumbsup]

Definitely an optical illusion. That sign is dead-center.
Someone is going to have to point it out to me sometime, i still don't know where that blind spot is. [bang]

...the ol how many union members does it take... 4, 1 to do some actual work, and 3 to stand around looking busy keeping an eye out for da man...

Actually, it took two to do the work: one to dig the hole and one to mix the cement.
The other two were in Legal and MGMT. HR, recruiting, PR, EXEC, Community Dev., and IT have been moved to Indian and China. [bacon]

We need to start outsourcing CEOs. They're bound to be cheaper, and it'd be hard to do a worse job.

I'll second that one! [thumbsup]
Well your going to have to share with DQ, I sent the letter out yesterday. But KUDOs to all of you for doing that, even if I seldom use that road myself.
BTW Since I don't Know DQ's name, I sent it under his screen name So I guess any of you might possibly go down there and pretend to be DQ, but my guess is that the woman that owns the SS probably knows who he is.

Thanks man. Marija will know who DQ is ;D
Many thanks, Dave. I enjoyed a wonderful cappuccino and bagel this morning:

I checked out the sign in person on Friday, and I don't know if it's sinking, but it's like 4 feet off the ground. ;D

It was installed like that. Some people prefer 8' posts, others prefer 10' posts :)

That was what the directions said ! AHG!
I know, it looks like a shorty, but it works. Last time digging 2' was a major effort. This time I think you went 3' in 3 scoops the ground was so wet. [laugh]
That was pretty dang funny.
Just saw the sign today. It's hard pack now. [thumbsup] I think that was a good spot. It's a bit up the hill out of the water flow and off the road a bit.
