Has anyone found a source for white face gauge kits (just the gauge face not the whole gauge) for their monster?
I have a 620 and really like the look of the white gauges over the gray (but don't want to replace the whole cluster neither).

Those were the DP sets werent they? ( i had one that had no labeling and one from road racing, but as you noted they were for the older bikes ive never been able to track one down for the IE's)
also double check to make sure your guages can open. I dont think all of the IE gauges were that easy to open like the later generations.
Do you mean like this?

Where did you get that plate to cover the bolt holes on the top triple? Did you make it? Look great man! [thumbsup]
Nice! yes that would be what I'm looking for (only in miles as opposed to kilometers per hour.
Dimk, did you get that from a private seller on ebay.de, or from a business on it. do you remember? thanks.

Me likee! Where can I get one, in MPH? I didn't see that the first time.
The address is www.newtacho.de (//http://) but i found it through ebay.de.Send the man a message and i think he can make them in MPH.The gauge cluster has two philips screws at the back ,one at the bottom and one torx in front(hidden under the center piece. The only tick part is taking the needles out,but the kit has instructions for that, using two spoons 8)
Thank you, Dimk!
I sent the gentleman an e-mail. Let's see what he says...........apparently he can make any design. if he doesn't have it in the system, then he can make one based off of our own gauges we mail in to him.

Dude, post up his reply, if he can make that in MPh I would totally get it. Also, how does one remove the speedo needles in order to mount these?
To remove the needles first you remove the little center black hands. Then you place two little spoons under them and they pop up(do this gently)
Here is a crappy night shot

Thanks for the pic, Dimk!
I hope this guy responds to my e-mail!
so the guy responded, but they do not have a template for the speedo.
He said I can either scan the gauge and send to him or send him the gauges or face and they can make a template and give a quote.
Not sure If I'll go that route. if anyone is interested, their url is www.newtacho.de (//http://)
scan!
If you are not up to it I can take mine apart again and do it.
I have been wanting all white face gauges for a while now.
Those look really nice. :)
resurrecting an old thread!
so I was finally able to get a hold of this guy in Germany and worked on a custom design with him based off a high-res scan (thanks He-Man for the gauge scan)
pardon the crappy camera phone pic (I can take better pics later)

as you can see, the gauge faces worked out nice but it took me quite a long time to get all this done because I did a bunch of other mods that were related to this (might as well do them all at once!) like clip-ons and replacing the cracked front plastic gauge covers, dual disc brakes, HID headlight, grind down stock upper triple.... long story short it was a lot of work, but I'm very happy with the gauge faces.
I have to show you how it looks backlit.
I had the guy run off a couple of extra gauge cover sets if any one has the guts and patience to do this mod (PM me if interested).
Looks sweet! [thumbsup]
You have PM.
Looking good! :)
Another member was kind enough to make a few graphics for me with layers to adjust, so i have a few designs on my computer. nice work though.
i have been searching for white faces. if you still have extras id loooove to get my hands on a set. you have PM!
and thanks so much for thinking of your fellow DMFers when you were ordering [bow_down] looks sick. nice work on the triple too (thats also on my list of todos)
mwahaha, only one extra set left! [evil] [bow_down]
hey bones did they end up being single piece or two piece?
redial, just make sure you hae the right bike for hte gauges, i know when i discussed it with bones, there seems to be a alot of different guages out there.

It's a 2 piece, but the faces are exactly the same dimensions as the scan you gave me. the only thing redial will have to be careful about is to mark on the cluster the position of the "0"s of the old faces so the new ones match up (actually matching the cutouts to the digital windows should be good enough, but I like to be precise).
0s?
is this a vinyl overlay or a completely brand new piece?
oh. no it's a brand new piece, but they don't have the alignment tabs on the outside like the factory 2 piece gauge covers do.
PM sent. :)
OH "O's as in the holes that they hook onto, i was thinking the zeros like 1zero 2 zero 3 zero (10,20,30 mph etc) [laugh]
How much does it cost to print these? i have them in a illustrator file.
!Wow! what an interest i am currently in the R&D Phase when i have one done, ill post up.
well see if i can get a digi cam working. My roomate left town with my mem card but if i find another one ill post up what i do step by step once i get the faces and have time to install
should be a fun little project while i plan the next [thumbsup]

Do you have any of the white face guage sets left?
If so,
What are you asking for them.
Thanks,
Jeff
