Had something to do in Melb on Sun 5th of April which has now fallen through [bang]. Will still be in Melb as other things now booked for the Saturday.
So does any one want to meet up? For a) brekky - given that it's a Sunday, some research required as to venues that will be open [coffee] [bacon]
b) a ride - just as long as it's heading west - I have to get home for work on the Monday [moto]
c) obtain OzMonster cards (will have to get Nick/Matty to send some down) [thumbsup]
d) all of the above
Any takers?? ?? ??
or do I have to go to NSW to meet with other monster owners [roll]
Sounds good. [thumbsup]
The Scoresby Motorcycle Swap Meet is on that day (I know it's not really west) and I'd like to get there but brekky first would be good.
Get me some cards to take to the swap meet too.
I may be up for breakfast, but it's very tentative. It's my birthday that day so the wife may want to do something with me. I could always bring her along, then I have a lift as well [thumbsup]

OK, OK, ;D I don't mind going west. It means I get a longer ride for the rest of the day anyway. [moto]
Got any places in mind? How about along Nelson Place in Williamstown somewhere? It's a bit yuppie but so am I, I guess.
Good access to the freeway too.
No don't have any places in mind. Leaving that up to you 'locals' (so I can't be blamed for bad venue!).
If you know of a good place to eat and that will be open on Sunday morning in Williamstown I willing to try it. Haven't been to that part of Melbourne yet.
Have to see what general concensus is.

Spider's input (bait taken):
You will be VERY frickin lucky if your missus wants to do anything with you in the morning. I'd go for a late lunch in a wine district and give her plenty of rosé....then drive her home (so to speak). You may have this diabolic plan for free.
as for breakfast....
I will do some research...anyone have any particular suburbs they want?
Ducmeister is suggesting Williamstown. See earlier posts.
Have to check the roster and the social secretary, otherwise I'll be in. [thumbsup]
Williamstown is only 10 minutes from the CBD, eeeeeaaasy. [moto]

Ita.....you been to Porgie and Mr Jones?
I hear that's it's wicked. The scrambled eggs are made with chunks of Holy Goat chevre.
good parking on Auburn too....
that's an option.
Options:
(all spider approved)
Hawthorn (Auburn Rd): Porgie and Mr Jones
Brunswick (lygon): Gingerlee (this is one of the hot spots at present - bring your sweet tooth)
St Kilda (balaclava rd): Las Chicas: great everything here
Flemington: Verb: big serves, cool music, mixed crowd (haven't been but gets the thumbs up from a big eater friend of mine)
and speaking of music/food combinations, one weekend....we'll go to one of my favorites....in Ballarat....L'espresso! (1/4 music store, 3/4 foodie haven)
so they are the places I recommend and have shortlisted
the pregnant dog is back!
Hello, I may be able to attend this. I believe "The ride for the hills" ( a fundraising event for the communities affected by the recent bush fires here in VIC) is on that day. Starts in St Kilda. Could be potential for a carding operation. Just a thought. :)

Hi all,
I think this Ride for the Hills thing is a great idea. [thumbsup] The website is http://www.rideforthehills.org.au/ (http://www.rideforthehills.org.au/) if you want to check it out.
The places that have been devastated by the recent fires have been part of the motorcycle scene in Victoria for so long now. They have been places that have welcomed us, :) fed us, [popcorn] entertained us, [beer] and for whatever reason have been great places to visit. [moto] I think it's a great idea that the motorcycling community wants to give something back. [clap]
Heatherp, I know that Whittlesea is not really west but it's only a little bit north and imagine the fun we could have as the Oz Monsters representatives in such a fantastic event. Think of the carding potential too! ;D
So my suggestion is brekky [coffee] [bacon] in St Kilda somewhere and then join the throng for a cruise [moto] up to Whittlesea.
Cheers.
Hi Rob
I agree totally with the sentiments behind this ride.
The thought of attending did cross my mind. The logiistics are a little difficult. ie 4 hour ride home and work the following day (I'm not a wuss - I do extremely full on 12 hour shifts!!!).
I also find the thought of riding with that many other bikes just a little (read hugely) daunting. Would find it easier if I had some friendly faces to ride with. [roll]
Did you notice they are advising people to rock up at 8.30am. Sort of rules out a lesiurely sunday morning brekky.
Howdy All.
Been there don't that for bushfire appeal, cash and material items.
If we really want to help those effected then we should frequent their new business's once back up and running.
+1 for Flemington, leisurely breaky and ride.
Madalf.
Dos and I did our bit for the 'get the regions business back on track' last weekend....we took our girls up to coldstream for dinner. Dos tried to drink as much local wine as he could, what a giver...his generosity knows no bounds!

Originally I was going to be doing a workshop on Sunday and would not have been free to do the brekky thing. So I organised a night out for the Saturday and booked a room. Now the workshop thing has been postponed and I was left with a (Wotif) hotel booking and ticket to a show which I coundn't cancel.
So in reality, I was going to sneak into town and do non-bike related things. shhhh - don't tell anyone.
