I felt uncomfortable cutting the frame, so here's what I went with.
--No chop CF Tail Unit. (Monster Parts)
--Clear Alternatives LED tail Light.
--LightTech LED turn Signals.
--Custom Dynamics LED lighted plate frame.
I modified the aluminum bracket on the tail unit to eliminate the tag-light and mount the plate a bit higher.

Nicely done Joe. I really like how you mounted the plate. [thumbsup]
Welcome to the "fans of no tail chop" club. Looks like we have another CF addict. Psssttt, I have a DP CF clutch cover for sale, to go with your cans/tail/belt covers. [thumbsup]

My wife says "absolutely not!" on the clutch cover...but tell me more. Open? Closed? Pics maybe?
I'm a little concerned about the lack of protection for the clutch if you go down with a CF cover, but I could be persuaded to go CF.
Just don't tell my wife!! ;)
Looks good. now chop it [evil]
You have two choices:
1) chopped
2) doesn't look good
;D

Yeah, I had one of those for about a year.
Then I chopped! [thumbsup]
That's the great thing about Monsters...they're a canvas and everyone can paint
their picture! [moto]

Sorry, I'm glad you like it, but chopped is the way it looks best IMO. Yes Tom, your bike looks good as a package, but would look better, again IMO, with a chop...
This looks good, I have been looking for a way to make the tail look a little better on mine

Out of curiosity, how many tail chop pieces
do you have mounted on your garage wall?

Spoken like a true addict!! It is closed (max protection). You can see it here and it comes with the Corse emblem you see on it:

I have to admit, the chop looks good on certain bikes, this one being a great example. It think to me, if you have a shorty exhaust like Boom Tubes or the QuatD Ex-Box, then the chop lends itself well to the overall look and flow of the bike. I haven't seen a bike I've liked it on with regular exhaust. Even when the cans have been shortened.
That being said, the newer S*R style Monsters came with a slightly longer beer tray that didn't look good either. That is the specific reason I did the no-chop CF peice on my tail. Some of you may remember my last Monster that Yuu now owns. With all the mods I did on that bike I never even changed the directionals or the stock beer tray. I just thought it looked great the way it was.
