Well i have been lurking around the forum for about a week while I finalized the purchasing process for a new to me Monster. My names Matt but all my friends refer to me as Duece. Got the nickname from my previous baby a 1991 Toyota Mr2 turbo. Im 25 and currently a college student studying Biology and working to finish my bachelors degree. A little late I know, but better late then never. I live and go to school out side of Rochester, NY which is located in western NY about 3 hours from Erie, PA. I have about 4 months of riding under my belt and it was all done on an 06' Kawasaki ZX-6R(636).
So after a little bit of searching I landed my self a 1999 Monster 750 Dark. I had never planned on buying a monster out first it kind of just fell into my lap. Although it does need a little TLC but the price was right so it will be a nice project over the next year or so. It needs to have some missing/damaged plastic parts replaced, a new gas tank, tires, and im gonna guess a general tune up. Its mostly cosmetic stuff so it shouldnt be to bad. The bike has 16k on it but seems to run strong. Didnt pay much for it so I think I didnt do to bad.
One major question i have though is where can I find a chart or list of what years/generations of monsters have interchangeable parts? I see alot of stuff for 00'+ bikes but nothing for 99' and lower really.

congrats on your new monster Duece..sounds like you have a fun project ahead of you. One thing is for sure you have come to the right place, there is a lot of knowledge lurking throughout DMF. one thing would be to post up the q about the'99 parts...and also post up some pics now at the beginning...
cheers

Welcome to the family!!!!
pics on progress would be great!
Welcome Duece and congrats on the bike! [thumbsup]
I don't think a comprehensive chart exists, but if you post up about specific parts in Tech and/or Accessories & Mods someone can probably help you.
Good luck getting your Duc fixed up.
