I bought a pair of A* leather gloves, size XL, from Motostrano. They are just barely big enough. I inquired about exchanging for a larger size. The support guy said that these will stretch. I think that my leather Revit gloves stretched a bit.
What is the experience of the people here? Is it common?
run them under some nice hot tap water (inside and out) for a few minutes, then put them on and wear them until they dry...
if you wear them for a few weeks you will notice that they will stretch out over time. they usually stretch more in width than length. if the lenght is fine or a little to much oand the y are too narrow then you are fine, aftera about a month or so of good riding they will fit great.;
i have a set of gloves that were a bit snug when i got them, the lenght was perfect but getting them off was a pain, that was for about the first 3-4 weeks, then they were fine. now they fit perfect 8 months later.
Or wear em in a rain storm and let them dry on your hands as you ride once the rain has stopped... I did that with both my pairs of Helds.
my A* were a snug fit when new. once they broke in, it was perfect.
I wouldn't worry too much, unless they're painfully tight
depends on fabric.... if its mostly leather, then i buy them nice and snug, as in not so easy to get in or out. and if you want to speed up the process take a hot shower with them on ( thats what i do with my running boots), then i guess shadow box with them, because i go for a short 1 or 2 mile run with the wet boots and they shape up very nicely.
if its mostly stretchy fabric, i look for a brand thats a little slimmer then usual because the stretchy stuff stops getting stretchy after a while.
My A*'s were pretty stiff and never quite broke in the way I wanted. They always stayed stuff no matter what I did. I switched to Held and they've been great since I first got them.
My A stars GP Pro were snug at purchase and fit perfectly now. I would purchase the same size again.
Do they make your hands tingle when you ride, or just a little snug? I would send them back and get a larger size. Nothing worse than wearing tight gloves you spent your hard earned money on and don't use. Actually its almost trial and error when switching to a differant brand until you finally find your perfect size.
After buying several pairs of differant sized gloves I've concluded I wear a 3XL in Euro gloves and get a perfect fit every time.

Not that tight, just a little stiff and pulling at the tips of the fingers when I make a fist. I'll keep them, as it's pretty clear from all the helpful responses that they will stretch out. Thanks for all the input!
I've bought about 5 pairs of A* gloves now and annoyingly enough only 2 of them fit the same. I've found that they stretch length-wise very little but width-wise quite a bit. I've worn holes through the index and middle fingertips on 2 of my 3 old pairs.
+1 on the water trick to stretch them. My gloves always get a bit looser after I go through the rain.
