Also how do I know what stands work on a ducati monster? My pipes are factory standard and located right by the swingarm...
TIA
LP stands are OK, but not the best - for 50$ it is probably an OK deal.
Here is a FAQ on stands:

Most 2 sided stands will work with all older dual sided swingarm monsters. The newer single sided swingarms take a more unique stand.

I have an LP stand just like that and it works great on my 695!
That rearstand will work fine. I've heard lots of people like the Pitbull stands.
I've got a CycleCat and its phenomenal. Too bad you can't get them anymore. When you are looking for stands, see if they are for spools or not - spools are more stable IF your bike is equipped with spools. If it is not, then you can't use a stand for one until you put spools on. This may require drilling and tapping. While that's do-able, there's really no reason to go to that much trouble.
If you`re looking for an inexpensive one I bought this one a few months ago and I`m very happy with it.

I know some people will say to spend more money on one, and they wouldn`t trust their bike on it but my bike has been up and down on this thing since the beginning of the year. I`ve sat on the bike on this with a full tank of gass and it still felt very secure. I`ve wheeled it out of the garage into the driveway with it. It works great and is plenty strong.
I've used that exact stand for 8 years now, not the first issue
i used that exact stand with my 03 620. worked great.
i would still have it, but doesnt work for the SSS s2r...
Thanks for the all the feedback!
