Another forum I frequent (TWTEX.COM) is having what they call a "Pie Run" on Saturday. What is that you say?
Riders from all over Texas converge on a restaurant ("The Shed") for an 11:00 am arrival. Talk bikes etc until about 11:45 then eat lunch followed by pie for dessert. Afterwards head back home.
Usually about 80 bikes show up. Friendly group of all types of riders, everyone welcome.
Edom is near Canton so the ride is about 1.5 hours from Dallas. I'll be going and if anyone wants to ride together, post up and we will pick a meeting place.
I'm tentative yes. I've got new tires waiting for my bike, so I need an excuse to put the last miles on the current set. That being said, law school finals are next week. Gotta balance ride & study. So tentative yes. Definite Maybe.
I've worked with 100's of attorneys and Judges. Is there anything I can do to talk you out of this profession? [laugh] My favorite line at the courthouse was when defendants saw me in a suit with a briefcase and asked if I was an attorney I would say "No, I am a real person just like you." [laugh] OK... this is all in good fun you know! Since I don't personally know you I feel a disclaimer is needed. [laugh] [laugh]
ha, as much as i love public speaking, i fear a courtroom is the last thing i'll see in patent and intellectual property law. appellate arguments are neat, but trial stuff may not be for me.
Ato Memphis: Well, the other to riders I invited are not going to be able to go. Therefore, it is just me and maybe you. Let me know if you are still in, and then we can decide on launch time and place.

I can still make it - but have to get back right i stuff my pie hole with....pie.... to sit in the stuffy SMU Law library and read more about Recording Acts, Conveyances, and the rest of Property Law. Hooray.
Great. I live in Lake Highlands area of Dallas. If you are near SMU, I can ride down and meet in front of the Bookstore on Mockingbird and Central. We have two options on the ride out.
1. Quick way. Boring 82 miles out I20 then south to Edom. Should leave Dallas by 9:15.
Option 2. Longer with more curves etc. 175 to Kaufman then FMs to Edom. Probably 2 hours (92 miles). Should leave Dallas by 8:45.
I'll do either. Let me know which route (or if you have one let me know) so that I can be on time. My cell should something come up.

Rick, option 2 is more what I had in mine. If I can get back by, say, 3:30pm I won't explode and leave stress-filled gobs of insides all over DFW.
