It would seem that there is a rumour flying around "the creek" over the last week or two that would suggest that a certain individual, who happens to frequent the place from time to time, has thrown all sense of heritage, traditional and loyalty aside and decided to join the "made in Japan" side of the garage.
I hasten to add that this rumour, at this point in time, is unsubstantiated and heresay only, but it comes from reliable source not often wrong in such matters...
That is all (for now).

Duc riders have suggested brands like BWM, Aprilia, KTM to me as replacements....
A lot of the guys here already suspect who the rider is and are therefore getting ready to fling some friendly crap at him!

Myself, I'm not really into mine is better than yours bullcrap, if a bike goes/looks/sounds good to me, I don't really care where it's made. To a point. I'm not really into the Korean/Chinese section of the bike market. :-\

As the instigator of this thread, I can assure you that the intention was far from being "makecist" - I've not come across this word before, but I think I get the meaning... But rather, poke a little fun at a particular active member of this forum (who has been surprisingly quiet on this thread!)
Like others have said, the people who make up the Oz Monster community come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, and all have their personal reasons for riding ducati motorcycles, some of which may indeed fit into a category which people may define as elitist or brand snobbery. Personally like all types of bikes (and cars!) but can also appreciate why people find some marques evoke more emotion than others.
The reason why this community exists is to share our passion for ducati motorcycles, and in particular, the ducati monster. As such, I'd expect people to be more passionate for ducati here than say, netrider or similar. Anyways, it's all in good fun. Now back on topic, can anyone offer more in the way of substantiation?

Perhaps the term should be Marques-ist ... or mabe anti-Marxist?

Haha, that's okay ;D it wasn't an overly serious comment in the first place (the made up word was the hint!). I just have something of a compulsion to stir the pot whenever I hear/see brand loyalties getting out of hand!

Ok so im looking for a Japer, but not just any japer.
There is some reasoning behind it all.
When I bought the Desmo I promised my self that if and when I reach my first goal of 1:45 at the creek it was time to get a dedicated tracker 2 reason, 1 at the speeds you need to be doing to achieve these times an off on the Desmo was sure going to be expensive and 2 I’m fast enough to start racing now .So on the 9th of May I laid down some consistent 1:43.6 on the Desmo. So it was time to start looking
Well I have tested them all from 2 strokes to V-twins. Today I tested the last 2 a ZX10R 1000 and a 09 Big bang R1. I thought I would leave these two for last as they stood out from the rest the kawaka with its 194hp and supposed traction control and the R1 with the new cross plain engine.
I did consider the 1198s but with its 34k price tag and its expensive replacement parts, it was way over budget.
So the kawaka, well it had plenty of stopping power and the handling was great, but the power delivery was slow and came in around 6000rpm and when it did it was very savage ( high side central I think).
The Big Bang R1 no stopping power, this can be fixed with some braided lines and some pads, the power WOW :o so much like a V-twin only better .I came back from the test ride shaking like a leaf, so responsive great engine braking and the front wheel is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound .I’m sold Its going to be a Yamaha for my new tacky [thumbsup]
The Desmo will still do the odd track day at a slower pace as it is a un believable machine it just can spend its remaining days in a lounge room.
So my next step is to buy one and get it track ready. It will probably take me some time to get back into the 1:43’s again with the new machine but I think it’s the most economical way to start racing,i keep you all updated [thumbsup]
I'd say the post above substantiates the rumour!
Hmmm, might have to change your handle from Dockstrada to The Docktastrada!
Well done and play nice with the new toy. [thumbsup]
So it's a Yamacati hey.
It does make sense, no point in having that much (in the Desmo) running around the track risking damage.
If you've got to your goal and you can get off it and track something with less zero's in it all the better.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing the new beast.
Hey!! No da probelem, Vale rida da Yamaha !! ;D
So musta be hokay huh, bella ?? [thumbsup]
