So with the last bike I sold I got rid of the agv stealth i was rockin' for a year and a half. Time for a new lid. Any additional input is appreciated.
I have the shark and love it. [thumbsup]
pictures...we need them here. ;D
All the Gucci-blingy-coolness aside, get the bucket that fits yer noggin the best. Best fit = best ability to protect correctly. But you know that already. [thumbsup]
So get the most blingy white one you can. Somebody has to give Donovan some competition! [laugh] [laugh] Besides, everybody knows that white is 10% faster! [cheeky]
AGV GP Tech Best helmet ever. (http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/AGV_GPTech_Full_Face_Helmet_WhiteRed--636386.html)
Safety rating ECU /SHARP/ DOT Best combo IMHO

Temperature scale, It keeps you......... Cool _____ Warm
Fit is precise, not bogus comfort - personal like shoes.

All full-face helmets are just fine. The most important things are price and fit. Extra venting and other features are nice, but not essential. Bling and/or replica helmets are stupid in my book, but if you wanna pay the extra to rock one, go for it. Sit in the store for at least 30 mins with the helmet on. Scuderia in SF has a great selection. Cyclegear is not as good, but they'll have some stuff that Scuderia doesn't. Between Scuderia, the Dainese store, and Cyclegear (all within a coupla blocks), you'll have your pick of the litter.
There have been complaints about pieces falling off Arai helmets.
Again, price and fit. Mostly fit. We can't tell you what to buy because we don't know what fits your head.
He should get a 3/4 helmet to help support his fellow dentists.
;D I'm really diggin' the shark rsi
Spidey's right, try 'em all on and get the one that fits your dome the best. I've got the RF1000 and love it, just my .02 cents.
Later
p.s. After you try them on, check online for price comparison. I usually like to support the local business, but when I can get the same helmet for $120 less online....it pays to check around.
so went to cyclegear and they had a sale on the rf1000, i liked it i bought it [thumbsup], tried on everything they had in the store, except the womens stuff, gross

Something wrong with women's stuff? ??? We're gross? ???
Girls have cooties. [cheeky]
I tried on everything in the store the first second time I picked out a helmet. I settled on the RF1000. It had amazing reviews and fit well.
A year and a half later I tried on a Scorpion Exo-700. Cheaper, less enthusiastic reviews (though still very high) and it's the absolutely best helmet fit for me and it's quieter than anything else I've used.
Point being, I would never go by an online poll. Glad you got something that fit well.
If you want to know who cares about your brains more or less, read this - it's a good explanation of all of the safety ratings:
DOT, SNELL, SHARP, ECE 22-05...

+1
Bottom line, fit is key.
However there is a little more to it than that. Some companies make the interior very soft and squishy so that the helmet will fit almost everyone. Those are much less safe than a helmet that is actually made for the shape of your head. Narrow, round or wide oval, etc.
i like this one (on the rider, not the passenger) ... and i hear there is going to be a stoner replica available soon.

Hence the term "brain bucket"

Besides, everybody knows that white is 10% faster! [cheeky]
That is only cuz the rest of are temporarily blinded by them and have to roll off.... [laugh]
As to the OP's question, everyone here has already said it, "the one that fits properly/best" is the one to get. Shoei X-11's ROCK!

I tried on some Suomy and Scorpion helments today. Best of luck if you've got a head shaped like E.T. and can fit into those brands. Sticking with my X-11.
I actually have to take the helmet back, got a large, and it's too loose on my head. While I was looking I came across this sweet deal from cycle gear, plus they have $50 off all shoei helmets right now so this will be $300 plus tax, Win!!!!! http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=HEL_03-515_G (http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=HEL_03-515_G)
It's an older graphic, maybe from 2007, but it's a brand new helmet :) They said they'd check the production date of the helmet, I'd rather get a solid color helmet that's an 09 versus a graphic from 07 for the same price.
IF you want a custom paint on a AGV, take a look there:

Pretty cool stuff... ;)
I've got the same RF1000 as you're looking at, mine is an '07 and I have to say it's not my favorite design, but safety and comfort is the most important thing (followed closely by $$$) I got mine for $300 last summer which, as you probably know, is about $140 less than a current graphic on the same lid. I can live w/ the design and put the extra scratch into a new tire, or lots and lots of [bacon]
