I am looking to get new tires installed on my S2R. CycleGear has a sale coming up so I was hoping to purchase them there and have them installed elsewhere. The Duc dealer in Plano said they would charge $135 for the install. Anyone know of a local place that can offer a better price?
Simple. Randy McCarter. Works out of Scott's "warehome". The masses on this board will agree. He does awesome work, extremely thorough and a hell of a nice guy. Prides himself on changing tires on carbon fiber BST wheels and never leaves a scratch! What does that tell you?
His phone numbers are 817-706-8870 or 817-685-8362. He's not in Plano. The warehome is in an industrial area near Regal Row and Mockingbird on Sovereign Row.
He just changed tires on my Monster, RC51 Hayden Replica, Hayabusa and my ZRX1200R Kawi. Makes you think I like his work doesn't it? [laugh]
Call him and make an appointment. You will not regret it! [thumbsup]
I have used Randy a few times, and you are right, he does excellent work. I was hoping for something here in Plano, but going to Randy is my back up.

Neither of these are close to Plano.
I use either Griff's Cycle (3040 and 35E near chuck'e cheese's) or Bate's (south bound service rd of 35E north of 635) Both charge $20 or so if the tire is off the bike. I think there's a $2 per tire disposal fee. If you use Griff's call to make sure Will is there I don't know if he's trained anyone else to change tires. I haven't had a problem at either place for nics in my rims.
What does Randy charge?

What part of Plano do you live in? You should join the "Oklahoma" crew for some rides and events.
check with Dean at metric tech in McKinney. he does all my work on all my bikes but I warn you, he will NOT do the valve job so don't bother asking.
I have cycle gear install my tires most of the time. If they have a deal, might be worth figuring out if they'll give you a break on the installation also.
I just bought a Pilot Road from Cycle Gear in Plano. Great price. 15% off so..... $141 + Tax. Not bad. Just started the promotion today. $20 to have it mounted. Must bring in the wheel. ;D
I try to time my tire changes for when buddy of mine is home and I just go to his place and use his tire changer :)
Except on the wifes bike... stupid spokes.. i do'nt wanna fool with all the intertube shite... so I'm gonna take it to Dave at Cycle Gear.. Oh and the YSR is a pain to do from what I remember... so Dave is gonna get to do that one too.. :)
