OK guys this here's my post with my mods. Nothing special though just the basic stuff.
Mod What was done?
# 1 Removed that ugly bikini fairing. Thought it was useless and ugly beyond any standard!
# 2 Removed that ugly rear fender and installed a Competition Werkes one that I ordered from the states. Sweet!
# 3 Had a 14t front sprocket installed in 1000 mile service. Really did wonders to the bikes overall usability.
# 4 Replaced the stock silencers with Roadsitalia special model full carbon. Removed db-killers. Rrrrrrumble!
# 5 Changed the mirrors & new bar ends from stock to chinese replicas of Rizoma Retros. Sweet!
Pics of the rear, this is how it should come off the factory. Sorry about the crappy iPhone quality.

No need for a mudguard that way! Would be pretty handy in Finland methinks... [laugh]

Yeah they're big in all of European Union, the plate size is standard in every EU-country. In Finland, the land of byrocracy if you ask me, they have unlimited number of regulations of the plate size, position (center aligned not off-center, angle max. 30 degrees, lighting etc.) and other stuff that drive bikers nuts if they get a roadside inspection by the police.
I don't really drive on rainy days even though I own gore-tex gear. I don't like rain it spoils the fun!
Luckily we don't have to inspect our bikes yearly as we have to cars...:)

You have never seen croatian plates... much bigger and fatter than this one... :(((((
Nice 696! [thumbsup]
Thanks for the comments guys again.
Today I got the bike from the 1000 mile service. I had a 14 teeth front sprocket installed at the same time and the bike is a much nicer to ride now.
It isn't a really big difference if you think of acceleration but it's a huge difference when it comes to gearing / usability of gears in the low speeds (riding in city traffic etc.)
Before it was pain to ride in traffic as the 1st gear was so tall you had to slip the clutch all the time, now it's a whole different bike you can ride it in 2nd gear and it takes off with the twist of the handle really love it it's more like a monster should be now. A really cheap way to enhance the bike seriously!
Looking good, lose the stock mirrors. Never knew why Ducati cannot seem to get the mirrors right on these. Even the new streetfighter has horrible looking mirrors. At least its an easy fix.
Sweet bike!!
Yeah I've been thinking of swapping the mirrors but I'm not sure I'll do that to this bike: it may just be that I grow my appetite to a bigger monster or a 848 or a Streetfighter next year and I really want to keep the budget a bit low with this. And it's not like I have money to lose :D
Why this budget crap? You see I'm thinking of changing the grips to softer because they're killing me right now, the mirrors I can live with. And that kinda ruins my budget if I get both the mirrors and the grips. Even though I agree they must be designed by the janitor of the factory while others were on vacation or sumthin' :)
But today I got a note telling me my new silencers (or loudeners lol) are in the post office ready to be picked up! Can't wait to get those in, I know it will be the best mod to the bike! And they cost me under 500 euros and that is really nothing compared to cheapest Termi's 1200 euros (that's 697$ and 1 673$ for ya)...and they were custom built and hand made in Italy!
Swapped the Roadsitalia loudeners ;D in a week ago or so, it's really loud now and I love it! Price for pair 420 euros and shipping 30 euros, can't believe it!
No pictures yet, I think I have to shorten the exhaust pipes a little to get these baby's fit like I want them to. Now theyre great but not perfect with the CW fender eliminator.
Few pics of the bike as it is now:

Next up:
- some black paint on some parts
- grips
- maybe new mirrors
- rim stripes...maybe.
looking real good sir
Here's a crappy quality utube of the bike and the exhaust:
Ducati Monster 696 with Roadsitalia special full carbon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPIWZqMnZ2g#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)
Next up: found these babies and thought "wow, they look awfully familiar...hmm....now where have I seen'em before?"

So I placed an order, dealer said I'd get them by weekend, and now I'm just waiting.
And no, they're not from the Rizoma world. And they cost me less for a pair than one Rizoma would. Chinese? Dunno!
Hey just wondering I've been away from the bike for a few days and I can't get to it sooner than sunday evening. My question is do the grips reach to the end of the bars?
Because I don't have adapters and I fear I'm losing sleep here waiting to install them without cause? :D
i think those are the same one's i bought. you'll need bar ends. i think it takes 1inch or 5/8 inch adapters. i would wait til the mirrors arrive and then take them and the bike to a shop and get the bar ends that fit both. i didn't wait.. my bar ends dont fit the mirrors. but i like my bar ends more than the mirrors. so i'm gonna probably sell off my set and get some rizoma prototypes
Got the bar ends, fitted the mirrors, a few "what the..." -moments later I was good to go! The bar ends were sort of crappy but they do the job. Only I didn't have any black tape with me at the moment and I had to use that silvery thing that holds everything (dunno the english term but we Finns call it "Jesustape" cause it holds everything and fixes everything), I used it as a bushing to lock the mirrors in the bar ends but it sort of squeezed out while tightening [bang] [clap] so I have to fix that later.
Here's pics of the bike now.
