Title: A motorcycle by any other name...
Post by: TobyDanger on May 17, 2008, 11:32:55 PM
I'm wondering what other names people use for "motorcycle"?
I'm mostly interested in general or Ducati specific, but others are welcome too...

General Motorcycle:
Motorcycle
Bike
Scoot
Ride
Motorbike
Moto
2-Wheels

Brand generic, specific look:
Chopper
Bobber
Crotch Rocket
Rat Bike

Ducati specific:
Duc(k)
Pasta Rocket (Italian)
Pasta Burner (Italian)
Risotto Rocket (Italian)

Other:
Yammy (Yamaha)
Hog (Harley)
Zuki, Zuke, Suka (Suzuki)
Beemer (BMW)
Rice Rocket (Japanese)

Bonus points for non-American or old/fictional names or phrases...

I see what you're saying... a chopper or a bobber is a specific look, but not necessarily a specific make.  I've recategorized a bit...

Thanks all for the contributions!  I've updated the top post.  Keep em coming!

Risotto rocket. That's what I correct people to when they call it a "rice burner."

Risotto burner would be more consistent, but "rocket" makes it more alliterative.
