my first was a xr75 , it would take a day just to tie the laces up
My ol' man wouldn't let me have the more desirable.... faster... Yamaha FS1E coz being 2-stroke it "wasn't a proper bike"... lol...

I still miss my 620. owned it for 4 months or something. Ducatis really should be red trellis imo. [thumbsup]
A yamaha GT 80 (//)
I bought a Kawasaki KLR250, what a blast of a bike, a bit gutless, but still a blast to cruise around on, tough as old boots, dropped it 2 or 3 times.
And I still see it getting around, 10 years later!
My first bike was a home made mini bike. I think it was a 50cc or similar, but my first road going bike was a Yammy IT175 power house.
Back in those days I thought it was fast. I suppose I was only 17.
Man that was 22 years ago! Wow. [moto]
First road bike was a Honda XL 250s, my brother and I had the same bike, we went everywhwere on those things,
dirtriding, great ocean road, scratching round the Kew Boulevarde, even raced mine at winton one weekend.

and you ain't lived til you've scraped a knee while on one of these babies...
This was my first bike. [thumbsup]
I think from memory I picked it up for $50 and rode the wheels off it. A great biuke for its time and it went like stink and was very reliable. First of a number of Yamaha bikes!! [moto]
In particular the 2 stroke rockets. Real giant killers! [evil]

The now old 620 was my first bike.
Unlike Craig, I don't really miss my 620 now anyway.
You will Matty.
Mine was one of these:
1 x crash + 2 x drops but no major damage done - not on that bike anyway ;D
I wouldn't mind having one in fair condition today. Actually, would prefer it's big brother the T500 or a T350.
I had a yellow Suzuki TS185ER but i can't find any pictures. :'(
Grew up out bush and rode some old bikes that we were able to find and get going (Honda 50 step through, BSA Single...). Never registered just rode them anyway (aaahhh those were the days... [roll] )
But this is my first real bike.... A Honda CB750 K2.... Loved that bike... Wish I still had it.... [bow_down]
All of 19 years old here and full of attitude..... As we all were at that age...... ;D

Lets just say that the suspension bottomed out big time........ :o
The soft sand landing helped.... A bit...... [thumbsup]
But I did enjoyed nothing better than to twist the grip in the sand and throw up a nice sandy rooster tail on all who followed me...... [cheeky] [moto]
Great shots of all the old bikes.
G'day Bazz, nah mine was the last of the T series, a 1972 T250J. I think the ram air models followed. I did have a later GT250 from around '77 that I used (would you believe) as a "track bike".
Those little two stroke Suzuki's & RD Yamaha's were amazing bikes in their day.
The old Suzuki models are all on this web site:

Well,
My first bike was a Suzuki RM80, way back in '84/'85? Wouldn't start, I had no idea what I was doing, bouth new spark plug, cable, put some gas mixed with oil, kick it a few times, it started...had fun, dad sold it, I made profit, I got it fro free...
Now, some 20+yrs later, I've got this:

1973 Honda CB175...
I was 18 years old, lived in a trailer, and had a mullet. This is the bike that saved me from a life of white trashdom. Oh, wait...you guys call it bogan.
Nice mullet Trev, and some serious air going on there in the dunes.
I new they breed them tough those in days........ yet the jerry can of ESSO fuel with a rag on it near the bath tub has me stumped, you must have got plenty dirty back then in the dunes ;D

The ESSO can was actually full of oil.
You see the CB750 had this unique oil system. There was an oil tank that not only fed the engine but it also oiled the chain. Like a chainsaw oiler.
So you had to keep the oil tank topped up and of course it had bad bad bad bad "fling" so the rag was to wipe the rear wheel and chain.
Thank goodness for drum brakes. Any disk in that area would have been coated in a nice film of oil.... :-\
I loved that bike...... [moto]
first bike in 1987, Yamaha TY175, then DT200, TT600, BMW R65, CR500, VT500, GS1000, FZR1000, YZF1000, ZX12R, S4R and now the 1098S.
First bike was a 1976 Yamaha YZ125C. Inherited it from my older bro and my younger bro still has it in his shed in Tom Price.
Would you believe it was mono shock (no, not because I took the other one off) ! It handled like a tractor and seized more times than I can remember.
Geez, those were the days, fanging around the bush out near the local tip being chased by the Ranger in his Landrover ... [moto]
Hey there is a few newbie's in here nice to see.
Why don't you introduce yourself in the intro thread.

Hay brimo this was my first bike also , had a great time on mine thought it went like stink [laugh]
It sounded like it did with aftermarket pipes , cops would always pull me over and give me a hard time.
Maybe thats why I like my monster without its termi DB killers ;D
It was something like this one.
Geez, it pulled the sheilas'. ;D
Hmmm first motorbike .... a 2005 S2R 800, some of you have probably seen it [cheeky] it had a few subtle mods [laugh]
S'pose it helps when your fiancee teaches you to ride on her bikes [thumbsup] but she obviously hasn't taught me everything [moto] or I'd be able to keep up.
I miss my Monster :'(
