Just read Motopia's newsletter and it looks like our friendly neighborhood Duc mechanic Randy McCarter will now be operating out of the Motopia garage.

Cool [thumbsup] [moto]
Yepper, you read it here first ;D
I believe they are finalizing agreements today, & it might be a coupla weeks before he's fully up-and-running.
Coupla great bennies- MotoPia is a Parts Unlimited AND a Tucker Rocky distributor, so you can get all the parts you need at great prices!
Also, you do NOT have to be a MotoPia member to have your bike worked on. You can also eat/drink/hang out in MotoPia while you're there [thumbsup]
Oh, also I think he'll be open all day Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays, & other days by appointment [thumbsup]
Also, as far as I understand, he's really going to be operating his own business (Motopia is leasing him the facilities) so he's going to need some word-of-mouth help from his satisfied customers!
Outstanding! He'll be right in my neighborhood! [thumbsup] I'll miss the journey to the warehome and petting on Zoe while my scooters are worked on. [laugh] Nice that we can eat and drink without being members too. Although I will also miss sneaking drinks out of Scott's frig! [drink]
Someone (anyone) needs to post up when he's up and running.
Very good news, and I agree we need to talk up Randy's new location and skills. With that location, he's my guy.
Anyone have a phone number for his shop?
Thanks.
George
I will pass along the info I get through the Motopia channels (I am a Motopia member - joined primarily for Cresson track access, Parts Unlimited deal, and the location is great though not as conveniently located for me).
Excellent news! [thumbsup]
No one said anything about the RED Bull Girls tomorrow night!
:o Oh! this thread is about Randy! ....sorry :-\
As promised...here's the info from the latest Motopia update. They will also be at the Moto Liberty Event tomorrow evening (and yes, the Red Bull Girls will be there at 5:30pm).

Lisa and I cleaned our bikes on the Spring '08 H.C. trip after running through rain and dusty roads one day and I can definitely attest to her attention to detail. This sounds like a great fit Lisa. Congrats! [thumbsup]

I would never name names, but this is great news for someone we know who's name starts with a "P" & rhymes with "atrickglennon"... ;D
Ha! Too funny...
But yeah, I'm very happy to get this show on the road. Certified OCD, Maniac-clean for everyone [evil] (And you don't have to be a Motopia member to have your bike cleaned or serviced). I'm working on schedule, services, and pricing. At this point, all I know for certain is that atrickglennon's bike is gonna be friggin' DOUBLE [bang] [bang] [laugh]
Should have it all sorted out by Saturday [beer]

But do you offer clear coating services as well?? His needs more than soap...
Lisa,
I'm guessing you do decal/graphic work also yes? I have a banged up Vespa in dire need of some wraps. :'(
Lisa! Big 'ol congrats on the new gig! This is way cool. How resourceful you are. You might actually have a future and a career now! Yea! Oh yeah, I have an '83 Jeep Wagoneer that's been sitting up for a couple of years. Think you can make it look as good as Atrick's bike? [laugh] [thumbsup]
Randy's very excited about the move! We should have all his stuff over there by next weekend, & he'll be up-and-running next week...
Make those appointments now [thumbsup]
Lisa - I thought you were kidding in your previous post (this thread) about detailing bikes ... just got Motopia email, says "Hell, no, she never kids about anything...she's really gonna be here."
Excellent.
See youse boids at the Motopia open house. Best wishes to you and Randy both.
George.

Haha! Thanks for the well wishes but yous - of all people - oughtta knows betta, George; I really do 'never kid about anything' [laugh] [bang]
Glad you can stop by on Thursday night [beer] Should be a party in the typical Motopia kind of way.
Is that going to be a members only open house? Or can a commoner infiltrate?
Red - Even I got an invitation... do you really think they can stoop any lower??? [laugh]
Gee George, I would only hope to aspire to the level of the bottoms of your boot soles. So far that's been pretty rough going. [bow_down]
Open House is for everyone. Hope you can make it [moto]
Out of the loop here. Is there an Open House at Motopia this Thursday night? Joking around or for real? So us low slung non-member slugs are even welcome?
Yep, the Motopia Open House is for everyone; member or not. Rene is throwing the bash to publicize Randy's new techshop and my moto detail service.
[thumbsup]
Haven't posted up lately, but it was good seeing: Randy, Lisa, George, Dax, Scott, Stephanie, The Todd, and all those motopia members last night. I brought my dirty as sh1t bike INTO Motopia so we could show off Lisa's race decal skills, and her and Randy almost killed me. After wiping it down and making it look presentable, it did indeed garner some good attention to Lisa's skills, and, of course, got lots of attention in her own right.
I can officially say that Lisa has created the hottest looking bike in Dallas, if not the US. Go team!
now, as to the dirty comments, hey, it's the price I pay for actually RIDING my bike, you freakin' OCD garage queens!! ;)
Cheers, folks,
The Svoloch
Thanks to everyone that made it over to Motopia last night [thumbsup] And a big thanks to Svoloch for letting us use your 999 as the centerpiece [moto]
I ride more than 15K a year you Russian snob :P

Randy said he was having trouble with the hard line hand set at Motopia and should be upgrading the phone soon. He's knee deep in work and operational set up so I would try him on the cell.
