So, no plans 8) just curious
Wow, they're only $72,500 here brand new...
Uhhhh .... CF Wheels? I hear there's a grade of Ohlins above the stockers too ... Umm ...

this was over a year ago, but...........
my dealer bought one for use as a track bike. no shit.
but he was not going to use it until there were parts available. OEM and after market.
he said that ducati expected to have parts available for it by 2010 :-\

no, tiny little shop in south central oregon 8)
You can add rearsets for track/race. But they cost a bizillion dollars and have VERY limited adjustment.
Durbahn is modding the heck out of one. http://durbahn.de/Desmoweb.htm (http://durbahn.de/Desmoweb.htm) [popcorn]
With a bike like that, I would probably spend the money and mod myself. I am thinking an enlargement procedure so that it would look like a rolled up beach towel in my one piece, white Italian leathers. Then I would just lean up against it at the local coffee shop and smile at the ladies.
'Monster-ize' it! Remove the fairing, tubular bars, and chop off every piece you can!
Scott
Sorrry, but this comment:

Is just plain disturbing
I mean I got the fairing got removed at birth (Jewish dad) but no way am I letting them chop off any more! And I think tubular bars are called a "prince albert"
And yes, that durbahn build is sick [thumbsup]
I would have a full time model to sit on it when I am not riding the thing.
There was a D16 at Carolina Motorsports Park on Monday. The rider seemed to have difficulties keeping the front wheel on the ground.
I got passed all day long, but nothing accelerated out of a turn like that D16. It sounds absolutely wicked too.
I heard the D16 Termi exhaust is 8000USD.
I followed one on a ride out from the local ducati store which had had the exhaust replaced by one supplied and fitted by John Hacket [bow_down](i think it was ex moto gp) and boy was the sound awesome, there was a drain pipe sized pipe coming out under the seat and a small pipe exiting at the botom of the right side lower fairing my ears were still ringing two days later [thumbsup]
[coffee]
I know one got wrecked at Jennings GP at a US Desmo track day awile back. There used to be a video of it on Youtube. I'm sure the Carbon body work is not cheap, I'd love to see one as a street fighter.
sheesh, and I fig'd the only mods you'd need for a D16 would be:
starbucks cupholder (CF, of course!)
an umbrella girl, who will meet up at EVERY coffee break so you don't have to leave the parking lot
it's own facebook page

Yup. It comes with a whole new Carbon Fiber lower fairing.
effin rich people.... [bacon]
Bobber project?!?
(I'm kidding!!!) ;)
The exhaust seems popular (even at almost $9000) we've sold 3 this month [thumbsup]
We have the DP bits listed here: http://www.ducatiperformance.com/ducati-store-desmosedici-c-15_339.html (http://www.ducatiperformance.com/ducati-store-desmosedici-c-15_339.html)
You've got to love the $1600 titanium bolt kit!
We've sold a lot of race body kits, BST carbon wheels, sliders and carbon pieces.
Most of our D16 customers are tracking them.

I guess this could bring us a bit closer? A little StreetFighter here and there - 350 lbs and 200 hp - not a bad design from that guy this time?

Doesn't the news keep saying we are in a recession?
Scott
I imagine they drape Italian supermodels over them.
A very small "bumper sticker" of LEDs that reads,
MY OTHER CAR IS A BUGATTI VEYRON

We are. People who can afford a D16 are not.

Well the idea that most of the owners are using them properly is certainly refreshing.

Hell, the idea that owners are using them at all is refreshing... :)
