Rose_guy and I were talking tonight that we should do a group ride this weekend. We don't have a route yet but we were thinking about snaking our way down to Rochester for lunch and then making our way back.
What does everyone think? [moto]
Ciao
Update: May 22 09
The ride is going to be ON Memorial Day (May 25th). We're going to meet at Rose_guy's (9537 10th Ave S, Bloomington MN) at 9 and depart around 9:30. The route is on page 2.
what day ? ill be up north this weekend, mostly sunday, maybe saturday also ...
We can start out somewhere on the south side I will volunteer our house(bloomington near MOA) if nothing better presents itself. head down wi 35 to redwing take 58 through goodhue to zumbrota down to rottenchester for lunch and then back. map to follow. I'm open to suggestions but I have taken these roads and last year they were all fairly good and more scenic then some. (If it was a cruiser ride it would be rotchester through onalaska) ;D

which part of 60? From Wabasha to Zumbro falls? We certainly can
Oh sure plan a ride when I'm out of town... :-[
yeah you gotta take 60 if you're down that way. County rd OO off of 35 in Wis. is a nice twisty ride. It's not any easy road to find off of 35 because I don't think it's marked. But it's fun.
Here is a tenative map. Schwang said he knew the best burger joint in rochester so we can stop there to eat lunch. if we meet up at 9 - 9:30 and take our time we should be there by 12:30. its 135 miles by the route. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
see next page
Alright so we've got a route, a day, and a time. So we meet at Rose_guy's at 9 and roll around 9:30 on Monday.
Might be able to make it....Going up north this weekend and not sure if we'll be back Sunday or Monday...
Oh btw rose_guy.....I love the schedule. [thumbsup]
Ciao
John, you asked for suggestions and I've got one. Bring Mo...it's funny when his mods fall off of his bike. [beer] Love ya Mo :-*

Haha , that is very much appreciated :P ... count me in, ill be there ...
For those of you coming monday I will pick up a dozen bagels and have some coffee brewing at 9:00. We can decide on lunch when the first person starts whining about it.
If the route is too long; turn north at Zumbrota and head home for a shorter ride.
Well..we finally get a ride together and I am working >:(....have fun guys..wish I could be there...the most I will get is a ride in to work...but at least I can ride :)
Westy
Ride safe guys! Wish we could go to.
Great ride everyone. Sorry I had to break it off early and leave you behind.
John thanks again for the test ride. WOW! Your bike is absolutely fabulous.
Fun to meet up with Denyse on 60. She is quite the good rider!

Sad I didn't make it. My Monster is having issues starting reliably and so I felt like riding all the way out to Rochester would have been a rather silly idea.
In general, what is the group ride style here? Is it generally at relatively safe/relaxed speeds or is it more of a knee-dragging MotoGP experience?

It seems to be both. A few in the group took off fast on 60. Others took a more moderate approach. I drove slow. We met up and started again.
Sorry Ulf, the damn Italian software is as buggy as their mechanicals. If the ducati rep can retrieve the info I'll get it posted.
Brian, are you going to post one or two pics?
No worries.
(Maybe you don't want to see what I did to your Red steed on Hwy 60 chasing after Denyse on the Yellow GSXR....................)
I owe you a nice bottle! Thanks again.

Here's Rose_guy giving the standard talk to Vino900. "Bring her home by midnight. By the way did I show you my gun collection?"

Half way through Hwy 60. What you can't see is the big smiles on everyone's faces. Plus we picked up Denyse, the only person able to push Vino900.
Looks like an awesome time! Beautiful bike, rose_guy!!

We'll have to try it again. The wife found out you do wine and said that you might be her new best freind. She's such a wino. [wine]
Nice pictures, Brian, but you didn't get my best side.
