So, did I miss the group pix? If not, when scheduled? If yes, can I be photoshopped in?
Lonesome George
i think it just kind of fell to the wayside. /shrug
sound of crickets...
Don't know what happened to this deal. I remember it being kicked around but no further action was taken. ???
is the 1st one still up at motopia??
Yep, the first one is still up in Motopia [thumbsup]
OK, well my daughter is a damn fine photographer with some serious equipment (it's just amazing what $80K will buy you at a private college :o). I'm SURE I could get her to shoot a great group shot... time and place? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
G.
(Oh yeah, and she'll make sure my bright yellow, high-visibility Intergalactic Olympia Kevlar jacket shows up bright yellow, not pale blue - yikes!)
I was just looking again at the pix Rick took at MotoLiberty and realized that might be a great place for our group portrait. We have elevation, we have a large open area for bikes and peeps, we have easy access and good light... so, besides free margaritas, what more do we need?
How about next Sunday afternoon? Around 3?
Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
I'll have to borrow a Duc for this.... :P
You can borrow my 1098.
:disappointed: I thought this was going to be related to threesomes
We will have that shoot soon [thumbsup]
Har har...you said "shot"

How about an Asian body rub. We will be in the right area.
love u lontime ;D
So, group, is you is or is you ain't doing this picture thingy or we waiting for the summer tan look? Maybe we can stir up some interest on this matter and get the Lollies to pose with us! yeah, yeah, yeah, he he.... [evil]
[moto] My schedule is slowing down so I can get involved with this at the end of June, or July sometime & would be happy to shoot photos ! [beer] - I wonder if D2R is still interested in doing all the heavy lifting on the retouch & printing like he did last time? [moto]
I can save you some time there; no retouching is needed in a 20 meter radius from me and the bike. Just fyi.
Just give me enough notice so that I can get my hair and nails done.
Ok, here we are...End of June! How bout this weekend? Sunday? Where?
[moto] I'm game to shoot a photo - schedule is getting a lot of slack in July. I'll start looking around for a location that would work on an early Sat or Sun so the light would be right & the heat soft. I'll report back but it will definitely be after 4th of July ! When a great location is found we can start a new thread with a poll for which date is best. [moto] I still want to hand this off for finishing & fulfillment ... [bow_down] D2R ? [moto]
Cyclone, you rock!
I'll keep an eye out for the "new" group photo thread [thumbsup]
Thanks but no pics of me please. Don't want to end up on America's Most Wanted like last time. I get tired of moving. ;D
How practical would it be, Cyclone, to maybe combine the group pix along with ride? There are one or two spots along the Muenster route that could work. Of course there's all kinds of cool urban/downtown-type backdrops possible as well.
Don't know, just thinking aloud... [coffee]
Maybe someone else ou there in DFWM land has a favorite location for posed bike spots? ;D
;D Whatever Boobies wants Boobies gets ! ( the story of MY life [laugh] )
I think if everyone met for an almost sunrise photo & then took off after that for a ride that would totally work ! [moto]
I will not be able to go because I plan on bringing a truck with ladder, lighting gear, generator, etc. but that is just the way the cookie crumbles. 8)
I am kind of looking for a parking lot maybe in the Grapevine area ( is that central to this Group ? ) that has a pretty good slope, with the uphill part of the slope on the east side for backlight on the group. Remember when you, me, & Caffiene Junkie got turned away at "Long Way Down" and that theatre parking lot had a pretty sloped area on the east side where we had parked in the shade? Well something like that.
I will also have to arrange for permission - I don't want to do a guerrilla production & have the cops ( or worse, MALL Cops ) come bust us just when we are about ready to shoot. So if anyone knows a great parking lot like this
which would be easy to get permission ( ie. not T.I., Bell helicopter, etc. ) let me know.
I'm thinking bikes will park cross slope with each rider by their own machine.... possibly holding the bike if the slope does not work with kickstands.
Still want some after the shoot production help or everyone may just get a fairly clean - ( yes I can do photoshop as well as anyone else - I just don't want to! ) digital file to deal with on their own. [bang]
Very cool. There may be something in Ggrapevine at the small vineyard or possibly at the marina. Also the dam across the east end of Lake Grapevine has possibilities as well. I'll cruise over there early this week and check 'em out.
Boobies
I'll ask my daughter, Meredith, a commercial photographer/graphic artist/PhotoShop artiste ( [bow_down]) if she'll bring all her expensive gear and talent to do the photos and production stuff. And she knows lighting - she may even know of a location.
(Hey, she still owes me for those first 18 years.)
I still kinda like the idea of shooting from the MotoLiberty balcony into the parking lot on a Sunday or something like that. But I will leave that to more creative brains than mine.

Donald is already taking care of this......see above.
[thumbsup] Happy to have help - or to help someone else! MotoLiberty balcony to parking lot does face East & could work - might be able to plug in there & skip the generator. That parking lot is pretty rough & would take a lot of retouching ... [bang]
Since we did a photo looking down on the bikes last time I was looking for something different - but it's all good !

I like the idea of having a scenic backdrop, you know like a curve out in the country? Some road that you can get an elevated shot and we all park on the curve with the Hill Country behind? I do know of an outstanding place to shoot it at but it would certainly involve a lot effort. There's a 90 degree curve with some very scenic backdrop down near Glen Rose. Just a thought.
8) The photo that Duc L'Smart orchestrated last time ( i was just a shutter clicker ) had a lot of bikes (30-ish) and would be too dangerous for the side of a public roadway unless there was a "scenic turnout" or something like that. If everyone lines up in one line it will be too long & thin & everyone will be small in the photo.
Scenic background could be "stripped in" but that is a LOT of work to make look right. [bang]
I'm starting to see the value in the 10' pole approach Dallas2R is taking toward this project ! [cheeky]

Sounds like an intro to a penis pump commercial ;D
Is there even the slightest chance L'Smart could let use the rooftop/p-lot again... ??? I think shooting for the end of July could work because if we sit around too long plotting this thing out, we'll never do it. I'm jus' sayin' ;D
He also has a LOT of coldbeer!
