Hello everyone,
I have recently installed SS style rear sets onto my 98 M900 and
am wondering if an SBK/SS/Sport Classic type rear brake master cylinder
set up would bolt onto a 98 900 type engine ??
the SS rearsets mounts the rear brake master cylinder onto the rear set itself
and it is tearing up my boot from my foot rubbing the master cylinder
any help ??
Dan..
anyone ?? [roll] [roll]
I have doubts the rearsets from any of those bikes would fit, as the frame and attachment points are very different from your bike.
So why is the MC "tearing up your boot" and couldn't you simply get/make a guard of some sort?
Also pictures would help a lot more than a bunch of [roll] s
Thanks for the response,
I will post a picture
I only have one question and it was not regarding the rearsets
it was regarding the mounting of the rear brake master cylinder and lever
since it is my understanding that all the belt drive engine cases are very similar
and they seem to all have the two large threaded holes on the right side case
the M900 uses the holes to bolt the stock right side foot pegs/passenger pegs/and exhaust hanger assembly
the SBK bikes use it to mount the rear master cylinder
and the current sport 1000 uses it to mount the right side exhaust hanger/right side foot pegs
again
any help would be appreciated.
as for a guard there is no room for it

hopefully this pic shows up
this is borrowed from the ebay ad of the person I purchased the rearsets from
in the picture you can see the rear brake brace bolted to the part of the case I was asking about
